ROUNDUP 5: THE REKINDLING (Patreon)

For months I have been looking through the detritus that comes down the Boom Shoot Toob™ and attempting to filter out worthwhile shooting games. I ignored Realms Deep and Next Fest (mostly) and now, in the midst of Steam's much less stacked FPS Fest, I bring you some recommendations and one shitpost game.

This particular roundup was originally going to happen in March. The problem was that the rapidly expanding script I'd written was mostly about 3D Realms circling the drain and it would have ruined the roundup like dropping a dead fish into a pot of chili. The delay also allowed me to toss in a couple more demos that were recently updated, like KVLT, and to have something truly maddening cap off the episode.

Maddening in the best way.  

The next episode will likely be about Rebellion's second janky, semi-classic Aliens vs. Predator game. And you're thinking "does he mean the 2010 game?" Nope! Rebellion shouldn't have made three fucking games called Alien vs. Predator, Aliens vs. Predator, and then Aliens vs. Predator again. I have yet to even make sense of how AvP on the Jaguar works and usually just get very lost in vents. I might touch on that game but I find AvP '99 more interesting. Or, as Steam calls it "Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000," and attempts to gaslight me by introducing bugs into the game that didn't exist in the Gold Edition I'm used to. And before any of you ask - yes, Director's Cut, bonus levels and all.
