The elf knight, Lynette, is assigned a village to protect due to ongoing tensions between two warring kingdoms.

While on guard, she goes to investigate after hearing a noise. She suspects it is the prowling thief she has heard rumours about.

The thief manages to catch her off-guard, then takes her on a long chase through the woods, but she manages to back the thief into a cave.

They are very quickly surrounded by necromantic plant creatures, but Lynette protects the thief, and passes out after breathing in paralysing spores.

When she awakens, she realises that the thief has gone back into the cave to drag her out, and is at first annoyed, then amused, then thankful…
