Create and program your own robo-kitty waifu to keep you company? Better. (Most of the time). 

She isn't perfect by any means, and sometimes malfunctions, but ongoing maintenance costs less than a real human and you can add and remove features from her programming whenever you feel like it. 

It's a lazy Saturday afternoon and you've just had a harrowing week at work. She mentions that your complexion looks a bit pallid and convinces you to lie down for an afternoon recharge. First she feeds you soup, then covers you in a patchwork quilt she made herself. 

Then, to cheer you up, she takes out a present she got you for your collection. It's a Lego Terra Explorer Ship, and she builds it while speaking and whispering softly.
