A Note on What's Been Happening (Patreon)

To my wonderful listeners all over the world, I hope you are safe. The current social and political climate is a minefield to navigate, so it may be wise to temporarily disengage and recalibrate if you feel it is too much. 

Current events are the result of socio-economic inequality and systemic abuse which have been present for a long, long time. Riots and organised attacks (both overt and covert) are not the best solution, but unfortunately it often has to "get this bad" before voices are heard and any significant change is made. 

I have worked with many young people who do not have the luxury of a safe upbringing in a loving environment. Issues start early and often in the home. This, coupled with racism and oppression, creates division. It is widespread, but the fact that empowerment and justice are being called for, by so many people, is a step in the right direction. 

Fear and anger are natural responses. Many will feel triggered by the reactivity and comments online, so please, please keep yourselves safe (not just physically), be sensible and be well, and take a break if needed.
