About system changes to my patreon (Patreon)

Hi guys, sorry for the sudden announcement, but after thinking for a while...

I plan to change my patreon system to up-front payment / charge.

And I plan to start this around this month / next month. 

But before i do that, i would like to ask you all opinion about this.


Changing into up-front payment will changes how i distribute my rewards / draws.

I will no longer send my draw monthly via messages, instead I will post the JPGs of my draw here as soon as it's done in a rar format. With so you also will be able to see all my exclusive draw from now on anytime you want. (November draw will still be sent via messages on 5 December)


There's a few considerations i was thinking about this,

1. This changes are permanent, I won't be able to revert it to remove the up-front payment settings.

2. This will became my gumroad unused from now on unless for old rewards

3. The possibilities of peoples who pay once every few months and then take everything they can.


But, the reasons i want to change to this system are :

1. Due to the new things i wanted to try in my draw, these changes is a must. (Still a secret but i hope you will like it)

2. I believe it's also easier for new patrons to understand.


If you already my patrons or subs to my fanbox, nothing will change.

Change only happen to new patron in patreon, and those changes is you will be instantly charged when join.


So... what do you guys think about this changes? Do you all approve it or not?

If the poll result differences are really high, i will follow poll result but if it thin compared between each other, i will consider it again.


PS : I will get my 2nd vacc tomorrow, so big possibilities I will became a log for a whole day.

If there's no heavy side effect except pain in arms, i will reply all your comments when it get better

It seems to me that sending through private messages is not a bad idea that should be left, but prepayment in my opinion is better for both the creator and honest users.

My understanding of English is not very good, will I be able to continue downloading the Gumroad images? my phone usually corrupts files and I don't want to lose them

This means that I don’t have to wait until the 5th and 6th of each month. I can get the monthly reward directly at the beginning of each month, right?

In this case maybe you can remove the monthly stuff and put them on gumroad at the beginning of the next month. (Or keep them for more than one month, depending on you) If you want to take a monthly break then just leave them there till next month.

But now it's good that all your works stored in one place, if you'll upload a rar/zip/7z or something, Not all works will be stored on Gumroad, will be hard for new users who wants to buy all works I think (maybe)

So the only thing that change is the way you put your draws. The price will be the same and pay every 1st of the month?

the change is for new patron, so say you one day quit my patreon and re join, for now (the current system) you wont be charged before 1st next month, so if you quit before that, you won't be charged with anything. But if using new system, when you click join, you will instantly pay first

I’m not sure if this was stated properly if I didn’t see it, but what will happened with the older drawings? Will they remain the same and be available on gumroad for purchase or change to the new format, just curious?

Gumroad will still available but if new system applied, i wont sell new package there or maybe i will routinely delete old stuff here (for example 3 old months draw) and sell them there, still thinking about the best option

I think upfront payment would a lot less confusing for newer patrons, so they won't miss the cycles. As other people suggested, you could keep older works up for 1-2 months and then remove them. Then adding them to Gumroad, to avoid people subbing on a whim and grabbing everything. I know a lot of other artists that do the same thing here.
