I was streaming on Twitch the other day when I experienced the most bizarre case of the Mandela effect. For some reason, I was convinced that I had done an episode of the pod about this precious little comedy drama called Calendar Girls. It's one of those cute comfort movies I'm always watching in the afternoon and so great is my need to talk about it that on numerous occasions I've gone to record a dedicated pod and thought, "ahh bum I've already done it". So here we are. A bunch of middle aged British women get their chebs out for charity.

Just got curled up bed with pot noodles and the last half of a bottle of prosecco, ready to listen. I used to live on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and wasn't in the WI but I was a Town Councillor so I had to deal with the WI and the Yorkshire Country women's association. Also had lifesaving treatment in the same hospital the calendar girls originally raised money for the sofa. And yes a lot of the ladies are a lot like the ones portrayed in the film. I dread to think but also excited and curious about where this is pod going to go. I love this film because the characters, the no nonsense Yorkshire grit and the humour are so relatable to me as they remind me of women I know

Absolutely adore Calendar Girls. Did you know that the real WI who made the calendar make a cameo appearance near the start as members of the rival WI in the competitions. Also, if you love Celia Imrie and Julie Walters as much as I do, you could do far worse than watch Dinnerladies, a Sitcom written and starring the late, great Victoria Wood (whom Julie Walters was best friends with). It's from the late 90s/early 2000s and has a lot of that same "funny but will punch you in the gut with feelings sometimes" that Calendar Girls does, and was filmed in front of a live studio audience. Absolutely love it
