The Holiday is a 2006 American romcom and one of the turdiest Christmas pictures you'll ever see. As I explain in the pod, it really could've done without Cameron Diaz and Jude Law's dreadful storyline, which unfortunately makes up 50% of the entire thing. I mean Kate Winslet huffing gas then jumping on a plane only to flop around LA with a geriatric screenwriter is bizarre enough. But it's Christmas so this seemed like a highly fitting subject matter for a pod.

Contains surreal references to Kate Winslet's character huffing gas.

Holy Jesus Lymp, that exchange with Graeme and his inordinately pissed wizzing just had me donkey in cackles. This movie is one of my comfort movies for the simple fact that it’s so ridiculous. Kate Winslet and Jack Black have about as much chemistry as anchovies and marmite. And where are these young single people getting all this money? How does all of this happen over the span of two weeks? Cameron Diaz not being able to be in any form of adult relationship and suddenly being down to be a stepmom is what takes the cake for me. Anyway, Merry Christmas my loves, thank you for making our year a billion times funnier. Love you two!

Newish patron, long time YouTube watcher and first time commenter here! Me and my partner bought our first house together and moved in over the last few weeks so I've binged episodes of the pod whilst painting so thanks for keeping me company! Always love whatever subject you talk about. Regarding The Holiday, I have never seen it but immediately searched the 'esophageal spasm' part and can't actually believe someone sat and wrote that and Cameron Diaz acted it out, seriously the most odd thing I've seen in a movie! Looking forward to the last pod before Christmas have a good one! X

I always thought Meghan was Nova's sister? But now you're mentioning her in a context "way before Nova" - I'm a little confused right now. Can someone put me wise, please?
