In June of 1979, a large fire destroyed the ghost train ride at Australian amusement park, Luna Park, resulting in the deaths of 7 people. I'd heard of this tragedy before but Netflix recently dropped a documentary called Exposed: The Ghost Train Fire which interviews survivors, witnesses and police officials all linked with the disaster and hints that the officially determined cause for the fire might've been an absolute pile.

This one is a bit heavy so skip it if you're of a gentle disposition.

Wild adjacent fact that sprung up for me during this- Abe Saffron’s son Alan and grandson Daniel were featured on an infamously bad episode of Kitchen Nightmares called Burger Kitchen. There was all this talk of the Alan’s book about his father’s familial betrayal and then Alan stealing money from Daniel because he felt he didn’t inherit enough…it just goes on and on. Alan’s wife also comes across as cruel. They all seem incredibly delusional and fractured, the whole thing has this horrible sense of brokenness. I’d check it out if you’re at all interested, and do a little research on the backstory because it’s wild. Thanks for another great pod Lymp
