Last week, Nervana Guiness and I took a vacation in Cyprus per her constant badgering for a relaxing getaway. We stayed at a delightful adults-only hotel on the coast and yer gerl Lymp is here to tell you about it.

This pod made me so desperate to go away on holiday! I used to work on a ship so took the hot weather for granted but you’re 100% right in saying it lifted my mood to have that on my doorstep! Also feel your pain with the flight. I had to fly from Florida in a centre isle seat at 6’4. Hated my whole existence that day. Fab podcast and I’m such a fan of everything you ladies do :)

I'd love to take a vacation! I'm a first generation American so traveling back home has been expensive and difficult. You don't really take a week-long vacation of new experiences, but rather you stay with relatives for at least 2 weeks and essentially just move in for a short while. I finally have the availability and funds to take that extended vacation and actually see the sights of Bosnia and Croatia and take my grandmother along. Also I haven't seen Heartstopper but I did read the graphic novel, and I appreciated one of the main characters was a bit bigger. I was already husky and fully-bearded by 17 so I never related to the thin gay teens in the late 2000s, even if I was just flamboyant as them, if not more. I was always jealous of the idea of tomboys and how there wasn't a socially acceptable male equivalent term.

I think Hearstopper is cute but overrated. It's too cute and corny, and it's clearly meant for tweens. It is very predictable. But it does talk about bullying and some difficult subjects. Also one of the boys is bi. I was kinda surprised how difficult coming out was to him especially nowadays. I would rather watch Young Royals.

You should try Rainbow sandals — they’re pretty much the California staple.

Luton airport just reminds me of Airline even though it’s been YEARS since the show 🙈

Any time I hear you mention Wentworth it makes me so happy cos I feel like it didn’t get the love it deserves, it was such an incredible show and I often find myself rewatching it! Me and my friends were obsessed with it and the theme tune! Your impression of vinegar tits had me laughing as it was spot on, please do an episode on Wentworth and I’d love to know what your favourite episode of the show is! Also I have to confess I had a week away in Newquay last year by myself as my grandma used to live down there, it took 12-13 hours on a coach to get there but I’d rather do that than fly on my own! Also another confession, I pretty much go to the same place abroad every year too and that’s Ibiza! Me and my friend try to go every year for the closing parties and it’s always a great time!

As a 27yr old I will also not be watching Heartstopper. I'm happy we're living in a time where LGBT+ characters are being shown more frequently and in a positive light, but it's rare that many of us got a story like this in our school years so I refuse to watch it. I know for a fact I'd have the same sinking feeling I had with Love, Simon where I'm left in an enormous amount of numbness and mourning a coming of age story that all my straight friends had while I was on the side-lines. Shows like Heartstopper can bring out a pain felt by many LGBT+ people that we don't have the bandwidth to feel and address. Not all of us had a coming out story we want to tell, not all of us felt loved or had a support system growing up, not all of us had any form of relationship in our school years and I don't want to watch something that doesn't seem like a real experience to me. And like you I also have no interest in watching teenagers do literally anything, especially be in a soppy romance, so that's another factor.

Love a pod just about Novympia happenings. Is it weird that I find it entertaining when you just talk about the things going on in your life and what you did during the day etc? Though can’t beat a good spooky pod or true crime topic! Regarding shows like Heartstopper, as sweet and wholesome as it was to watch it, it really did leave me with a feeling of disappointment that my high school experience was nothing like the show. I’m only in second year of uni so high school wasn’t that long ago, but my mind has mentally blocked so much of it lol. I feel the same goes for a lot of lgbt people as well. As far as I know this kinda situation isn’t very common, but I feel immensely happy for the people who’s coming out story was as wholesome as in Heartstopper. Another great pod as usual though doll! Sorry gotta go now, need to go out and get some miscellaneous sundries for the kitch! Love ya❤️

Been having a tough time lately with my fiancé having to spend the last few weeks in hospital, and I’ve found myself rewatching the Orlando and Paris vlogs a lot as I find them oddly comforting. They’ve really helped me out the past week or so. Love hearing about your adventures and can’t wait for another holiday vlog with Megan!

Catching up on my Full of It backlog and I just want to offer my solidarity re: airplane seating as a tall, big person. I even felt sympathy pain over the bruised shins. I flew on a red eye from Chicago to Paris last summer and that flight was also inexplicably without AC and it was completely miserable in every way, even sitting near the bulkhead with a bit more leg room. I’d rather walk to Paris!

I love doing work and listening to the pod! I totally feel the same about realism in the come out stories - and now, with the how Kit Connor sitch, if audiences saw the real effect of coming out or being harassed/forced to come out maybe people wouldn’t do it? But, holidays: I love going to London. It’s a bit gross, but most major cities are, really. But - we went to London for my birthday (to catch up with an American friend who was also there) but also to see the arts and culture. We went to the Tate (love), my partner wanted to go to the Natural History Museum, but we also went to the opera, a concert at St. Martin’s, a play (The Woman in Black).
