Birgit Meier was a 40 year old woman who went missing from her apartment in the small town of Breitling, Lower Saxony, Germany in 1989. Her disappearance sparked a frustrating police investigation and serves as the basis for the Netflix documentary Dig Deeper: The Disappearance of Birgit Meier. In 4 one-hour parts, I can't say that I've been this invested, shocked and heartbroken at a documentary in a very long time.

Given the subject matter, this one contains references to violence, suicide and abuse - as well as the full ending to the documentary which you might want to check out first.

Aah!! The bonuses of doing a (mostly) solo podcast. *Cries in the host and producer of a three person, recorded remotely, podcast*

NOT YOU STARTING THE EPISODE WITH LENA!! I screamed just hearing that opener thinking, “Oh she is NOT doing that.” (Israel should have won that year, IIRC.) Another amazing podcast episode, though it was a bit less lighthearted than last time.

“I’ve done some research and took notes” I had to double check I was playing the right podcast. What happened to frantically searching for the Wikipedia page during the recording? Also: yes to a Full of On Screen Beef.

That was mental. I’ve never heard of this story. Imaging being in that police force and going into that murder room after the bloke has fled and just thinking “ah shite we’ve fucked this, lads”- naturally I’m assuming the police officer that warned the gardener was a man. Poor woman. She must have had an awful end to her life.

I love the pod so much! I have listened to every single one at least once if not more lol! I listen on my way to work every day as well as re-listen to others while going to bed. I can't wait for the next pod about desperate housewives! I love that show! P.s. I discovered if you're using apple podcast and you slow your pod down to 1/2 speed you sound absolutely wasted and I get a kick out of it sometimes, and i thought it might make you laugh as well! thanks for another amazing pod!

Darling Lymp, I just wanted to send you a big thank you for always keeping me company with your pods. I run a small business, which as you are well aware can be extremely stressful and it has lead me to have severe anxiety the past few months. I've been working in a tiny studio alone for 14 hours a day and your gorgeous voice has been an absolute God send to me. I've been going through all your Pods from start to finish and it has helped me more than you'll ever know. You never fail to make me laugh and it's like your in the room with me as I'm working. Thank you so much for taking away my anxiety and helping me feel less lonely. Regarding this episode, my partner is German and said she has never heard of this case until she saw the Netflix documentary on it. I can't wait for her to hear your German accent :')
