...and it's a Full Of Beef starring Nivea Guyana.

Today, Nova thought it would be a good idea to sit down and discuss NFTs over a hot bev. By the time I realised that not only did my green tea have a disturbing flavour but that this conversation about people spending millions of dollars on horseshit is so far-flung from anything I ever want to talk about, I was ready to run out of the house to jump into the sea.

I've never heard of the group One True Voice but i imagine a group that when they all sing together it creates One True Voice

Wouldn't copyright laws and trademarks help NFT'S, and would you consider ETSY products are NFT's? Have there been any updates about the Novympia plush toys?

What annoys me most actually about cryptocurrency and NFTs is that they start out with the intention of being decentralised non-political and not controlled by any country or organisation, which can be a good thing, putting the power into the hands of the individual owner not government, but they so quickly just devolve into another version of stock and shares, with mega rich assholes convincing poor people they can strike it lucky and be billionaires too by investing, when really the mega rich are just stealing the money and running. No one uses Bitcoin to purchase things, thats the whole original point! What starts off as a good idea meant to benefit anyone and everyone regardless of country or wealth turns into the rich getting richer and the poorer getting poorer on false promises. Nova mentioned how its all fake inflation with rich people buying their rich friends NFTs for extraordinary prices just to make them look more desirable, but you didnt mention how it all just devolved to yet another money laundering scheme.

The energy usage for cryptocurrency is in the processing of the transaction and the mining rather than the storage. It is incredibly processor intensive and often crypto mining is setup in low energy price countries and often consumes so much electricity it impacts the entire national grid and economy to the point of national blackouts. Often these counties are reliant on coal or other carbon intensive electric generation. See https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-59879760

Even though this all went right over my head, it was still better than an MCU pod. 😂 Sorry Nova.

FUNGINABLE!

As a somewhat artist myself, the thing that annoys me most about NFTs (other than the whole thing being utter bollocks) is that it isn't even about the art or artist. The whole thing just feels like a dick wagging contest for assholes. The fact that it's harmful to the environment is even more ridiculous. For the most part, I think it's mainly a trend which I hope will die out soon the same way Jesy Nelsons career needs to. Being an artist is hard enough without all this nonsense going around. The best way to help artists isn't by giving them something imaginary, it's by supporting them with commissions, promoting their work and making sure they get seen by more people. PS. Can't wait for Nova's solo podcast 'Full Of Opinions' where she can freely talk about the MCU in which I will absolutely be the first commenter.

Great episode! The entire thing just feels like such a scam when you hear people using a million buzz words to try and justify it. Also, glad Nova brought up the Final Fantasy XIV servers issue - I feel very seen lol

God. Didn't realise they were setting up shop in cheaper countries to make up for the energy costs. That's awful :(

Can so relate to the confusion you experience watching Twitch stream videos; YouTube started showing me complications of queer TikToks and I don't have enough streams of consciousness to comprehend the sound, video and text and process it all before the next one but like a baby watching flashing lights I just can't stop! Kids these days are incredible. I'll stick to pounds, shillings and pence and my vast collection of highly-funginable portraiture.

Oh quick follow up - I've not had personal experience with crypto-anything but a friend had hundreds of bitcoin at one point but gave them away when the value was about £500 because the pressure it was putting on his mental health was too much as he was checking the value hourly and not sleeping. He's a much more peaceful and lovely person since.

Girl this NFT is absolutely ridiculous, oh what! I can’t wait until the next stupid fad for making money comes round. I say all this but would absolutely pay whatever money for a Novympia NFT 😂 I’m exclusively a pescatarian but I love a good beef! Love you girls!

I still have no idea what this podcast is about, and I’m on the third time through. I keep falling asleep right after airlines comments are finishing just as NFT talk is getting started. Must be a coincidence. 🤔
