new normal upbeat demo (Patreon)

The initial demo of new normal (sounded much more like the final version) was missing something. I took a break and tried it in a completely different direction (as this demo) and ultimately went back and did it the way it turned out. But this is an odd middle attempt at figuring out this song.

I feel like maybe you should work on this version a little more Not if you don't want to, of course, It would just be interesting to see how a more developed version of this demo would be, I really like the feel of this It gives me an emotion I can't describe

I honestly see this as the middle part to an extended version of New Normal. And in my opinion, I prefer this one. I can definitely imagine this as a beat drop or intermission from the regular track. Funky fresh!

Also, I think it would be really neat if you made some sort of album with all of your alternate / earlier song versions. Maybe just for Patreon, but that’s your decision. It could be called ‘Alternate World’ or something like that. (Just an idea!) Take care of yourself Jack.

I feel like this version is like a crazy person talking about the world but in the final version it feels like a person talking about an dark apocalyptic world

Also jack if you see this, what is being said in one of the lines? It’s sounds like “familiar path, different lane” but I’m not too sure.

I think that’s really interesting. I’ve learned in my acting classes to do the exact same thing, and I’ve found it also works with drawing. “Play the opposite” is what my director says. When something is missing from your work of art, try it in a completely opposite direction. Even if it didn’t necessarily improve the piece, it can add something you hadn’t thought of before.

I'm not Jack, but I think you should go with your own meaning. Art's ultimately a method of expressing emotions and they don't always pass from creator to audience in a perfect form. I think it's really important to still see the emotions that art instills in you as valuable rather than seeing the artist's own opinion as gospel. It is nice to see their intent behind it though so you can see the different elements interacting
