Seasons greetings! I hope the holiday season has been treating you well!

I'm dropping in to give a major update on the next video! You might be aware that Star Fox 2 was recently added to the Nintendo Switch Online SNES service! While the game has been officially available for a good while through the SNES Classic, the second release of the game sparked the idea for the next video!

In case there was any doubt at this point, yes, the next video will cover Star Fox 2 -- the long unreleased SNES follow-up to Star Fox! This is a game with a wealth of history, technical information and fantastic gameplay to talk about. It also falls well within the category of games stuck between the transition period from 16-bit to 32 and 64-bit consoles, one of my favorite topics to cover. (Fun fact, when I was planning the channel I almost based it entirely around this concept! Consoles moving from 2D to 3D, how famous franchises made the jump, etc. Ultimately I decided to cover a wider range of subjects, which I think was the right decision.)

So far I've spent a lot of time capturing footage. Star Fox 2, like other games in the series, consists of multiple "paths" in order to see the entire game. Though this is executed in a different way than the other games, it still eats up some time. I like to record a lot of footage, just in case I need a clip of a specific scene/area/example of gameplay. A necessary evil of documentary-style video work, I've found. Next on the list is finishing up the script! I've created a basic outline in between gameplay recording sessions for the section of the video in which I plan to discuss the game itself. The history of the game always comes afterwords when it comes to scriptwriting and first in the video. I'm also planning on using some footage captured with the new camera as B-roll. I'm excited to introduce this to the channel for the first time, it should add some visual flair that didn't exist before!

Once the script is finished and the audio has been recorded, I'll start the edit and get the video out to everyone! As I mentioned in the previous post, you'll be receiving an extended cut as a patron! This video will likely be a little longer than the typical video on the channel as it is, so the extended cut will be quite lengthy. I'd like to think of this video as something of a holiday special!

That's the state of things so far! I hope you enjoyed this little update post! Keep an eye out, I might end up giving a few more peeks behind the curtain for this project here on Patreon before its release. Thank you so much for your continued support, and happy holidays!
