Kyle demonstrated what other adults needed to do (not kill others, but protect themselves and their property). His age is secondary to that, and his competency is reinforced by his aim. He didn't have the gun to kill people, he had it because he legally could and in the event it was necessary to use. I would also question the parent's input, if they allowed it, but he is not the monster he's being painted to be. He also shouldn't be charged

The dream is clearly about Anna. Who you tell it to so gleefully first thing is part of the meaning. Strange coincidences: Last night, I listen to Anna talking about recently watching Dean Stockwell in The Player. She notes that Stockwell died a few days ago, and she counts the viewing as a weird synchronicity. Anna's comments give me a chilly frisson. For just last Sunday, my girlfriend tells me she is going to catch a retrospective of Paris, Texas in Tokyo that afternoon (https://wenders-retrospective2021.com/). I've never seen it, but when I look up the film after she tells me the plan, I notice that Dean Stockwell is in it. This surprises me, since I've always associated the film with Nasstasja Kinski and Harry Dean Stanton (and Sam Shepard). Meanwhile, Dean Stockwell dies last Sunday....

I've been shooting since I was just a kid. I was trained by professional men who saw combat, they murder other human and watched thier friends die. First, he should not have been there, period. If you don't believe me listen to Joko best defense is avoiding conflict. Second, Kyle took a military assault rifle into a croud of people. He went out of his way to create a situation so he could shoot someone. Third, that's not a gun for self defense. I own a version of that and I can hit center mass at 600 yards with a 16 inch barrel. At close range you just point it like shot gun. He is not qualified nor mature enough to own a weapon like that. Forth, its dumb luck that he didn't kill someone he wasn't shooting at. Remember the third guy got hit in the arm, not great aim. If that had missed the bullet would have gone for miles and possibly kill a random person. It happens all the time. You clearly don't know anything about guns and how a mature adult handles them. The caviler additue toward guns is disgusting.

I can manslaughter it for you. From a man who was taught to handle and respect guns from a young age by men who have seen combat. Kyle should not have been there, period. Jocko Willink says the best defence is to avoid conflict and retreat. A real man knows that fighting is absolutely the last resort. Kyle created a situation that gave him an excuse to shoot someone. He was wrong and maybe if he had real men to teach him this wouldn't have happened.

Dasha is right about Kyle Rittenhouse. Kyle had no reason to be there. He went out of his way to be in a situation where he could get the opportunity to shoot someone. Why else did he have a gun? He was not protecting his home. He traveled out of state to an area of conflict to get into trouble. Gun ownership is a constitution right but its also a privilege earned by showing that you are responsible and respectful. In boy scouts you couldn't even carry a pocket knife if you didn't do the class and prove your self. I learned to be a responsible gun owner from men who understood the gravity of what it means to murder people. So now, first an AR-15 is not a good gun for self defense, especially in a crowd. That bullet could go anywhere. A stray shot could travel for miles. Even Sammy the Bull Gravano, who has killed 19 men thinks its a bad idea. He thinks a shotgun or a 38 revolver is best. I would listen to a man who murder 19 people for the MOB. Most importantly listen to Joko Willink, just don't put yourself in a bad situation. A man knows that backing down and avoiding the fight is the correct thing to do. I have personally been in a bad situation where a couple people tried to jump me at night in a park while walking my dog. I could have shot them but instead I backed away. Only psychos want to murder other humans. The caviler additude that people have today toward carrying a gun is disgusting.

There is no way he knew the back round of those people. So thats not relevant. Kyle should not have been there. Why was he there with an AR-15? If he didn't plan to shoot people he is still responsible for his actions. I don't know the exact laws of that jurisdiction but its probably manslaughter at the minimum. I don't agree with Jocko on everything. Jocko is a trained killer and will always see things through that lens. Jocko total missed the point of "War is a Racket" because he is a hammer looking for a nail. The fact remains you can't go all vigilanty.

It’s ironic how Neri Oxman, wife of the hedge fund manager Bill Ackman who made those tweets in defense of Rittenouse and then was asked if his account was hacked, literally took money from Jeffrey Epstein — herself “willfully ignoring the facts of the case” when it was convenient and lucrative for her. Just as Anna is ignoring that Epstein connection while making a Epstein-Rittenhouse connection that suits *her* version of the narrative. Everyone’s got an angle. It’s important to pay attention to the fine print.

Just before Dean Stockwell's death, I saw him in Backtrack (director's cut version). Despite the impressive cast it was god-awful so much so I didn't finish it. So, despite your viewing of The Player, (through our recent viewing choices) we may share collective blame for Stockwell's death. Perhaps somewhat related to Fauci cult of personality, Amazon Prime keeps futilely promoting a Buttigieg documentary "Mayor Pete" on my Prime homepage. I am far more interested in Mayor Stoner or Mayor Pike (from Mayberry).

Hey y’all. I love the podcast so much. I look forward to it all week. Ah. I do need to say. I listen to an older podcast about how Germans are more conservative about energy. That they don’t have washers and dryers. I just got back from Berlin. Fixing up my sister’s new home. The Germans actually have really crappy construction. Really crappy energy grid. They can’t have washers and dryers. I’m a plumber and their plumbing is really terrible. Their HVAC is garbage. The Germans don’t know how to build nice homes. I was shocked at how bad the construction was. Because we think as Americans the Germans are so great. They are not. We are better. As your only construction guy fan. I felt like this needed to be said.
