Predators of Tacoma (Patreon)

Well.. I'm about 2 weeks late, thanks to IRL shenanigans, awful sleep, and booster shots, but I finished it! Novembers' picked piece - shot into one of the other 'Predators' tribes, Tacoma!

HD versions will be in the $5+ ZIP folders, which I'll put together later today, for now I'm about to collapse. But I had fun with it, to a point.. it was actually a challenge to try and imitate this anime-screenshot style. I think I got close, but it definitely was slow.. the picture itself, I drew some inspiration from PNW art and textiles, while keeping it my own. There may even just be a tiny grpyhon somewhere dealing with a sneaky fox merchant.

A lot of different pred/prey species cross paths at Tacoma, even in real-life, and so the idea of a trading post/nexus for the world seemed to fit rather well. I also decided on Emerald's name, as it just fit really well. Probably cause of her eyes. The snowshoe hare and elk are just randoms for now, but then again so was Emerald at first.

Tacoma, aka Mt Rainier in Washington, USA, is one of several notable mountains in the region famed for its migrations, large range of wildlife (seriously, there were SO many species I had to pick from on this), and visibility/proximity to major cities in the area such as Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia (the capital of WA! not Seattle! baffle your friends!)

This view is approx. from the Reflection Lakes to the south, where I felt the Eagles would be able to meet the sky from the massive fir trees in the forest, while also being near tributaries to Puget Sound, access of waterways to the Pacific. Tacoma in the Predators world is a hub, bigger than most, and it connects the sapient regions of Denali, Tacoma, Orizaba(Mexico), and Maunakea(Hawai'i) with a few other smaller outposts along the way, deep in feral lands.
