Either Bailey rolled really low on her stealth check, Massak has a high passive perception, or both, but in any case, he certainly hadn't forgotten about Tala mentioning her earlier, and clearly didn't want to ruin the mood they had going.

On the other hoof, he really has no idea about how their relationship works, and is kind of just joking about her joining. I think he just wanted them to reunite! Yeah that's it.
