Here's a picture featuring Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist. The idea was suggested by Shin.

"Ed tries to use alchemy to make himself taller and Roy interrupts, getting all the benefits and growing huge/Ed tries to use alchemy to shrink Roy and ends up just making him gigantic. I like either version of this idea for the ironic backfiring, haha."

What started as a prank ended up in  complete punishment for poor ol' Ed. He wanted to knock Roy down a peg by shrinking him down with a concoction he created...but no matter how many times he tried, it only backfired, making Roy grow bigger and bigger with each different potion Ed tried...to the point that Roy figured out what was going on, and decided to demand for more of these potions to grow even more powerful, while towering over Ed to make sure he was doing his job.
