Hey all! Just a quick question.

I spend a bit of time at the end of each update writing the readmes that go along with the content.

I just wanted to know how worthwhile this write up is for you all? Should I continue to invest that time to provide commentarty, or would the time be better spent on the content?

I think I speak for everyone when I say that if something needs told that effects how you are or your work, you gotta tell man

How much time do you spend on the readme files? If it's not enough to produce more useful work on the animations, I vote for keeping them as is. It's nice to read about the process behind the work you do.

The readmes are actually the highlight of your update posts for me! I love hearing your thought process for your work, and some of the images or animations aren't very self-explanitory so having a written description to go with them gives some much-needed context.

It's more likely to get read putting readmes on Patreon with the media. That way people have it fresh in their mind and can comment. Readmes are seldom that inspiring of interactivity and feedback.

I appreciate the readmes since it highlights what changes to look out for and the little bits that went into the creation. If you need, I suppose you could shorten them to change logs only and keep the interesting tidbits you wanna talk about directly on the Patreon posts. Like the mocap bits, I liked that.

Bit of both for me, would like to see the current projects finished ASAP but your thought process is interesting. Depends on how long you spend on them really, maybe set 1 hour max?

imho more readmes add to the reward -- you gain more insight from them and get better understanding regarding your changes and whatnot. id say keep them, so long as they are not a burden to your time doing other things 🙂

I'm on the fence honestly. I can see not doing so if it takes you long enough that it affects a realistic amount of time that could have been spent on the projects themselves. However, I also think that if it's not all that much time in comparison or at all, t hen perhaps it's worth keeping. I do value reading the parts for which I'm interested at the time, but honestly it doesn't affect my overall appreciation of what's going on outside of perhaps some major changes. Like when you go back over an animation to add in mocap and model changes. Perhaps, a best of both worlds? Major changes get readme files, but if it's just minor stuff then perhaps skip it? I dunno, honestly it's all up to you the artist.

You don't need to make it so long and give so many details. No one but animators will really understand the technical stuff. You could just say what's up and coming. That's my opinion. But maybe others like the technical stuff.
