I learned that in English we call our best friend a dog. Is it true?😅

Oh, you have to be careful with that. You can call your friend "dog" but only in very certain situations. Like when you meet them you might say "what's up dog?" (right now this is the only real situation I can think of) Sometimes it is spelled "dawg" in this context. But usually you don't call your friends "dog" because calling someone "dog" or "a dog" is seen as very insulting by most people. So it should ONLY be used if you are sure that the other person 100% knows it's meant in a friendly way (like your best friend)!

I should also add that "dog" and "dawg" have different pronunciations. And saying "dawg" is way more common than "dog" (correction to above, where I accidentally said the opposite). So "dawg" = more friendly and not often seen as an insult. Dawg is also the version used in text communication. (So Spicy would probably call her "my dawg" instead of "my dog") And "dog" = more insulting and will probably be seen a such an insult. Not used when talking to someone over text. 🐶
