Uh oh, let's hope that the window is sturdy enough. Instead of "I can't do it well" it should probably just say "I can't do it." or "I'm not good enough." And "I read in a book" could also be "I've (I have) read in a book" in this case both versions are perfectly fine, but I think "I've read" sounds nicer since her reading the book still has an effect in the present time. 😊🎵
