The theft of Purple dye.

Foreword.

It is said that in the sullen lands of Lacondria, children enter the battlefield as soon as they are able to brandish a sword, to this rule testifies to Hakan, a barbarian native of that place, with hair and skin black as night except for a bone-white stripe that crossed his forehead, possessed of a powerful body build similar to that of an immovable and corpulent oak, and his green eyes like jade burned with a defiant fury that made anyone who dared hesitate in their advance. confront him, in that way was Hakan, who had served from early childhood in the auxiliary regiments of Emperor Cayo Octavion Augustus Nerva, who in those years sought to annex the kingdoms of Tarsus, Avaloth and Hespia to his empire.

It was through the bloody imperial campaigns that the young Hakan received instruction in combat with spear, sword and shield, martial skills that were enhanced with the mental acuity of someone who, faced with a situation that seems irremediable, manages to emerge victorious where others meet bitter death, this set of qualitiesbeing what earned the Lacondrian great prestige when he was barely 17 years old. However, Hakan also suffered from a lazy irresponsibility towards his financial future, thus disposing of the fees paid by the empire on ostentatious banquets and beautiful women, a bad example that his contemporary compatriots soon followed.

Thus those times of battles passed until Emperor Octavion finally managed to impose the Pax Auros on the conquered nations, and therefore forcing his allies, the Lacondrians, to lay down their arms and return to their lands. The veterans accepted willingly, because moved by good judgment, they had saved a large part of their fees to provide themselves with a peaceful retirement, however, the younger ones rose up in open rebellion, arguing that the payments paid were proportionally insufficient to the services they had provided to the empire, in such a way that they saw fit to plunder the lands they had helped to conquer.

Of course, this affront was not tolerated by Emperor Octavion, who would lead a last campaign against the rebellious Lacondrians who would finally be defeated in the battle of Caragaia. Those who did not die in battle met a shameful end in the squares of the cities that had suffered their grievances, in such a way that the Aurelian law was applied to them, with whose example they sought to deter any future attempt at insurrection.

From this fatal fate Hakan managed to flee far from imperial justice, finding refuge in the distant kingdom of Heracleron. There, it did not take him long to gain a reputation as a thief and murderer, ignoble trades learned during his short time as a plunderer and which were highly valued in the port city of Khassalnut, where the nobles of the merchant families fight like asps for control of the city, exerting their influence to move their pieces in intricate palace plots, which would later culminate in violent executions perpetrated by the filthy ilk of the criminal guilds who gladly stain their hands with blood in exchange for large payments, the latter unaware that with With that ill-gotten gold comes the baggage of new enemies.
