MWS Chapter 25

After defeating Steven, Gary just stood down on the mats for a while. At the moment, he was wholly focused on one thing, his system. So much so that he was unaware of what was going around him at the moment. How the other contestants looked at him with daggers and the teacher's current expression as well.

He had been given a free point to use how he wished. When reaching level 2, he had placed the point into his energy stat, increasing it by ten points. But he was carefully deciding whether or not he should do the same with the next point.

'10 more points of energy, or maybe increase my health. If I have a large health pool, I could use it on skills like Charging heart rather than using energy to heal me. In the future, I'm sure there will be more skills that use up energy points, but then again, then it makes more sense to have more energy in the first place.'

Only then, Gary noticed that a girl was standing opposite him wearing the same gear that Steven had moments ago. He had only taken a glance as he went back to his stats screen, but he quickly lifted his head to look at the girl again.

"Wait a second, your—you—you- you're…"

"Come on, you came here for a fight, right? Don't tell me that you already got your fill just from that match. You hardly did anything?" Xin said as she lifted her hand and started to call Gary forward by moving her fingers towards her.

It was something that the others watching had only been seen done in the movies. If they were to attempt such a thing, they probably would have died from embarrassment on the inside. However, the way Xin spoke, the way she acted, was with such confidence and so natural that the others didn't feel this way.

Gary started to look towards Mr Fang, hoping he would step in and at least tell her to back down from the fight. After all, he had just defeated Steven so easily, who he was confident in. However, he just stood on the side, with Steven having just recovered sitting next to him.

'Is he really going to allow this fight to happen, but she's a girl?' Gary thought. It wasn't that he thought girls were weak or anything like that, but even if Gary was small, Xin had a more petite frame than him, and deep down, he knew he carried an unfair advantage. When using a Charging heart, he had the strength of a person twice his size.

Lastly, the last person Gary wanted to hit….was her.

'Damn it, there's no way Gary can continue with this fight. In the middle of it, if she gets him in any type of locking position and puts his head closer to her chest.... the guys going to turn on the spot!' Tom thought, trying to figure a way out for his friend.

"I'm sorry, I'm just worried that I might hurt you. I know this might sound a bit old fashioned, but I really don't think I can hit you." Gary said while making sure to bow down.

He wasn't doing this out of respect. He just wanted to cover his red face or whatever reaction his face was currently making.

"Ha!" Mr Fang let out a loud laugh. "Boy, through this thick armour, you won't be hurting anyone, and I doubt you could even get a hit on Xin. She's the best student we have ever had. I can tell you have fought a few times outside, but let me tell you something. If you come across a girl with a weapon, a girl attacks you, are you not going to hit back just because of who she is..?"

Gary understood what Mr Fang was saying. Of course he did. If a girl chased after him with a knife or went after his family members' lives, he had no problem punching them in a second, just every time he looked at this girl in particular, his heart would beat rapidly, even now.

"He can't fight!" Tom said as he stood up. "Xin, he can't fight because…because.…he likes you!" Tom yelled.

Allowing for everyone in the room to hear. At that moment, everyone went silent, including Xin herself.

'What the hell is Tom doing? Why are you confessing my feelings on my behalf!' Gary was screaming in his head, now he didn't know what to say, and all he could see was the system displaying his heartbeat rising close to the 150 BPM mark.

'At this rate, I won't even need to use a charging heart.'

"Oh, so it's like that?" Xin smiled. "Well, I saw your strength in rugby practise and when you were fighting Steven. I have to admit, you certainly do have unusual strength for your size, but trust me, you won't be able to use it in the fight."

Shaking his fist, Gary was wondering what to do, and now that Xin knew that he had initial feelings for her, he just wanted to run away. It was at that moment that Gary turned around and took off his protective headgear.

"I'm sorry, I just can't…." Gary said.

Seeing this, Xin was annoyed, and so was Mr Fang. Gary was the one who started this little fighting session, and now he was going to give up there, but it was at that moment that Xin had come up with a plan.

"Hey, wait!" Xin called out. "Is it true that you like me?"

Hearing this, Gary was thinking about what to answer. Yeah, he had feelings for Xin, but they were just initial feelings. It wasn't like he had spent time with her or knew much about her. It was because of this, he decided to just be honest.

"Yeah...Sorry that someone like me likes you." Gary replied.

"Then how about a deal?" Xin suggested. "If you beat me in a match. Then I'll go out on a date with you!"

"Huh!" Shocked, the whole group was shocked. Xin was a beautiful girl, and although she hadn't been here long, some members of those in the club had already asked her out, but she had refused each one.

Apart from one person. When Steven had asked her out, she hadn't outright said no for the first time. Instead, she requested a match. That was the day where everyone learnt that Xin was stronger than Steven. So, they were wondering why after all this time, she had made this type of deal.

"I decided a long time ago. I'll only go out with someone stronger than me." Xin said with a big smile.

Author's note: MWS will now release Daily, although towards the end of the month I have a wedding to go to for three days. Chapters will be shorter than usual to fit the Webnovel style but you will get Daily uploads. Next month, there will be 2 a day as well, although honestly it will feel like 1 to you guys because of the Shorter chapters.
