The N word is used by black people as a way to take back power from the original use of the word more often than not. We usually use it in a positive way towards friends or people we’re close with. It also can be used in a negative way by some even if they’re black. Personally I don’t have a problem with black people saying it even though I don’t say it often myself because I see it from the perspective of turning a positive into a negative. Not everyone uses it but it’s generally not a problem in our community about using the word.

Also you are correct the police precinct here is different from Daredevil. New York City is divided into 5 boroughs, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan (where Daredevil and Stark Tower are), Queens (where Spider-Man lives), and Staten Island.

If you notice Turk the gun dealer from Daredevil is playing chess in Pop's barber shop and talking to Misty etc.

Comic explain it pretty well. It’s sort of a take back the word type thing. Personally, I don’t use it and I feel like no one should use it but I realize saying “hey everyone stop using it” isn’t gonna work. So I guess taking back the word as something only our community can uses is the next best thing. Even then I still don’t like it and it makes me uncomfortable when people do say it but that might be because I wasn’t raised in an area where it was used much

No matter how people try to justify it, the term is still derogatory. You don't see other races using whatever degatory term people say about them toward each other, unless they are insulting them. Even the scene with Luke and the kid with the gun, he takes offense when he is called it. So generally, I would say if one person says something like that to another person, they better make sure that other person isn't offended by it and that they don't mind that person saying it back to them.

Idk if you’re black or not but most black people at least in America don’t care. It’s used around family, friends, and others all the time without much of a fuss. The context of the word is extremely different between a black person saying it and someone else.

They didn’t go into it at all, but I feel like Tone wasn’t originally from Harlem, based on the fact that he didn’t know Pop’s reputation in the community, before or after his atonement, how much he meant to Cornell. Either that or he was just as stupid and disrespectful as Shameek
