Indeed, his characters are pretty detailed but not the background. Well not as are the character's. I just wondered why he never bothered to develop it more. I like backgrounds usually, and I would have like he make it more.

I like backgrounds too, but in art making you have to create compositions with focus. Detailing the backgrounds in CSR's pieces more than he does would take away from the main focus, which is the characters. It actually takes more skill to have discipline like this, and his art is better for it. If you love backgrounds there are other artists out there who focus on that.
