Apologies for what seems like inactivity on my end (I feel like every Patreon has posts beginning with that). I had a minor surgery which I'm recovering from, but I'm still working at a normal pace, it just prevents me from speaking vibrantly into the camera. I'm sure my voice was getting annoying anyway.

So, the other things I've been working hard on:

Perfect Circuit handshake - Rather than managing a kabillion client relationships with gear manufacturers, in exchange for an affiliate link, Perfect Circuit will be sending whatever loaner gear I want to review, or that YOU want to see me review. I'm using this to try and weasel a private coupon for my Patrons. That's, erm, a big deal. It means that if you buy virtually any modular or synth gear/accessories, your membership here will likely have paid for itself. Fingers crossed.

So that's the good news, now on to the gooder news!

If you're not already aware, the Discord community is doing a songwriting group-project called Sim Selections. It's almost entirely self organized, and I'm pretty much uninvolved thus far and will be listening to all of the music on a livestream happening soon. I'm super excited to see how this progresses, and it seems like it'll be a monthly thing. I will be more involved in the future, and if you're interested, check out the sim-selections channel on the Discord server.

So that's the gooder news, now on to the crazy news!

I've been a consultant and silent partner with a very ambitious and large NFT marketplace the past few months. My role has been solely making sure that artist's/musician's rights are represented fairly, and that it exists, and will remain to exist ENTIRELY off of any proof of work blockchain. In English, that means it'll be, I think, the cleanest and most energy efficient NFT marketplace in existence. I don't even know of what metaphor to use. A few billion times less energy per transaction than Rarible? Is it even worth counting at that point?
There's more details to follow very soon, but what I wanted to give you a preview on:

We'll be hosting a songwriting competition that will award over $1,000 in the currency of your choice. I'm aiming for WAY over $1,000, but there are about a dozen people on the team who need to stamp the final number. This will likely begin on June 1st with a deadline of June 10th. I'll have the details once it's all approved. I'm SO excited to finally be involved in creating a solution to one of the many thing I constantly bitch about.

Also, I know this is a bit silly to say in a pseudo-public post, but keep it on the DL just yet.

Finally, as I navigate through this stuff, I'm really excited to play with and share my thoughts on:

1. The Chase Bliss Audio Blooper pedal
2. Metasynth (yes, it's still a thing, and apparently radically different).

Alright. I'll see you Thursday on a stream. Thank you for your patience. I'm filled with adrenaline but also still sore from surgery. It's weird feeling. lol

I'm very much on board with your strong stance on these environmental issues and happy to see the avenues developing for NFT etc that are more environmentally responsible. The more these sorts of coins and exchanges gain momentum and importantly, price, there will be less incentive for the incredibly wasteful energy use associated with BTC and similar.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Wow brother, where do you get the energy from? The environmental issues mean the world to me, if you don't mind the pun. So thank you, sincerely. Recover well, and carry on!

Is that Metasynth the picture to audio converter that came out like 20 years ago? Or Metasonix the tube synth company?

Could someone point the Discord link to me? I seem to be blind :D
