Victor the black powder merchant was made on the spot as an improv by Matt, yet he was so good at acting him out, he became one of the most beloved NPC in the campaign. This isn't the last we'll see of the Victor.

Just so you know, the voice of Zhara, the hot red lady, is the same voice as Motoko Kusanagi in the English Ghost in the Shell dub. Also directed the English dub of Cowboy Bebop. She's voice acting royalty.

Another context to Osyssa's statement to Keyleth: Once druids reach level 18, they live 10 times their usual life span. Keyleth, being a half-elf, already has an life expectancy of 180 years. Once she becomes an arch-druid, she would go on to live 1800 years, out living all her loved ones.

Don't worry I got and found your "Ripley's believe it or not" joke funny

GingerBardMan

Fun fact for this episode, "Bidet" actually became the official greeting for Critical Role and their fans, and it all started with "Grog" mishearing good day.

Kash is voiced and played in the campaign by Will Friedle. He was Eric Matthews in Boy Meet World, he also voice Terry in Batman Beyond and Ron Stoppable in Kim Possible. I think he and Zahra are the first guest PCs on the show.

It's strangely entertaining seeing Vex and Zahra as frenemies in this version of the story. I remember at the table there was so much sexual tension sparking between those two that viewers had to sit back from their screens.

Anonymous

you mean you didn't think there was sexual tension in the show? you cannot convince me they aren't bitter exes in this version of the story

Desert Penguin

Okay so can you explain this to me? Is the plot of the show mimicking what Critical Role did when streaming themselves playing tabletop D&D? What's the connection I hear with Critical Role?

BradV

We will see more of Victor, for sure. But this will be the most you see of Victor, if you know what I mean. :)

the entire show is an adaptation of critical role's first campaign. they've made changes but, for the most part, the story is lifted straight from the game. it's literally an animated version of a dnd campaign.

You asked for fun facts involving rolls: last season when Anders slit Cassandra's throat and you guys debated whether it was good for the story or not: that was a failed roll by Percy to stop it from happening. Matt's (the DM) face when Percy failed looked like "oh, shit, what do I do now?"

Also, when Scanlon threw the gun into the acid, that was something Sam (Scanlon) did without warning, and Matt had to stop from being angry at Scanlon. Matt had apparently planned to bring Orthax back, but Sam got the jump on him by destroying the gun.

mykanike

I had to pause it for a minute when all she said to Scanlan was no one cares about him. Like damn

Yan Daigon

"your mind is clouded" bro grog's mind is empty what are you on about?

The Force

Another Fun Fact, the reason Grog has his own thing is that the player who played him missed the session where they met the Slayer's Take and Osyssa, so this was Grogs thing he did with Matt on their own, much like Pike and the Temple stuff last season.
