Sorry for the bit of radio silence there, I switched some medication that sort of threw me off my game for a few days but I am back at fullspeed at the moment. I have begun the process of getting Growing My Grandpa! on Steam, I’ve been making a lot of store page assets related to that as well as achievements and fixing up an annoying audio bug that I have been sort of suspicious was effecting some players but I could not replicate on my machine.

When I upload the patch for Growing My Grandpa! you should all still be able to access it with your keys, or at least I don’t know why you wouldn’t be able to, but if you run into trouble regarding that please let me know and I will take care of it.

This also goes for access to the game on Steam for those of you who want it, itch keys can definitely be linked to Steam downloads.

I have done a lot of reworking of Ruins Of The Human Temple! For various reasons I had not felt super great about the dungeon-crawler like movement/exploration of the old version, I found myself wondering what it really added to the game besides giving Water Womb World vibes somewhat.

I wanted to give a better sense of place to the temple that is the namesake of the title as well. Having a mix of static and scrolling scenes I think will make the presentation a little more interesting, and there will be more opportunities for exploration as I intend to put in controls for putting your character onto a different “track” if they meet a fork in the road. If you’ve played the game Killer7 you might have some idea of what I am thinking of, if not, I will probably be able to demonstrate how it will work in the next post.

I have also changed the default size of the window from 480x270 pixels to 640x360 pixels, which I am pretty happy about, I think the more high-resolution assets I am using benefit from having a lot of space to take up, especially the character portraits.

The scrolling rock face seen in the smaller frame below the larger top frame is going to be the new site of interaction between you, the player, and the temple. The focus is still going to be mostly on scanning carvings and collecting information about the temple and its’ constructors beliefs and customs and using these disparate pieces to put together the mystery of the temple using a similar system to the old rotht but the re-vamp of the graphics of the game has gotten me excited about perhaps adding in a few more features if it does not take up too much time.

Ultimately though ROTHT will probably be smaller than Growing My Grandpa! or at least I hope to have it finished in a shorter amount of time.

My goal is to give an impactful, scary, doom-filled, less-linear-than-Water-Womb-World-but-maybe-more-linear-than-Growing-My-Grandpa! experience and I am excited to deliver it all to you. I believe I will have more Discover Our Bodies news in the next post.

Thanks again so much for your continued support, I'm almost at 300 patrons which I cannot begin to believe, it's so crazy, I have been so happy about how much you all liked Growing My Grandpa! and it's really motivated me to keep putting out the best work I can. Ruins Of The Human Temple will have a different tone than GMG! but I think you all will like it just as much. As always if you have comments or questions please do not hesitate to message me here or on Discord (sometimes Patreon does not notify me when I am messaged here which is annoying but I have begun logging on every day or two just to check so if you don't have a discord account don't worry just message me here!) Thanks again everyone!

Yours In Games,

Yames
