Another patch to 1.20.0 to improve things even further and address more bugs that were discovered and reported. Thank you for ongoing reports and testcases!

Release Notes:

Tweaks:

  • Person: Adding/removing morph as favorite now auto-refreshes the params to not require pressing the refresh button manually (which has been removed)
  • Usability: When physics auto simulation is halted, now also freeze motion/sound. Example: moving Person with Timeline or other animation running now pauses that animation while the Person is being moved
  • Plugins: move of FreeControllerV3 while linked no longer triggers the movement event handlers
  • Plugins: Exceptions during call to plugin Init functions are now trapped and reported as errors, but reset of initialization process continues

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed issue with some textures cached in 1.20.0.6 and earlier not loading in 1.20.0.7
  • Fixed World UI Distance user preference slider not having a proper label
  • Fixed issue with legacy pose presets removing all plugins on load or reset
  • Fixed issue with mixed or uppercase file extensions not appearing in file browser
  • Fixed issue where new filterable popup filter was not getting synced when the open handler made changes to the list (favorite morph params for example)

I still don't have a collision between person and item. I looked everywhere but did not find the problem. I will definitely go back to v1.19. It's sad but at least I don't have a problem with v1.19.

In main menu after launching VaM, going to scene browser, there is a slider at the bottom set at 500, it can slide to a MAX of 1000, I have 2041 scenes, Is there a way to increase this value higher? or add a button to navigate to next page of 1000!

That's not an included scene. You'll have to search around your install folder or find from the original source online.

I could probably add pages, but my suggestion would be to use the text filter or various sort options. Or you can use the old-style file browser that allows going through folders. I'm not sure scrolling through over 1000 scenes is a great way to find things.

Is it just me or has VAMTimeline stopped working properly? I cannot add a new keyframe whatever I try. I've even gone back to previous working scenes and tried to modify existing keyframes but no joy. No changes are saved.

It does appear v3.1.2 (174 var) of Timeline is not working. Acid Bubbles and I were trying to make some improvements for performance, but I think the change I put in 1.20.0.8 is not working exactly as expected. I'm testing a fix on my side now, but you could also go back to v3.1.1 (172) because that one is working.

Don't know if it's just me or others are having this problem too, but it seems that since the 1.20 upgrade, some plugins controlling facial expressions (such as easyMoan) don't work as well as they used to --- facial expressions don't seem to be set to normal at the end of a scene, so once the eyes are closed, they stay closed, and a restart of VaM is always needed to set the looks to normal again.

I made a special hotfix available for Timeline on VaM 1.20.0.8: https://www.patreon.com/posts/vampatreon-timeline-v3_1_2-hotfix-40784997 (free). This release only applies to people who installed Virt-A-Mate 1.20.0.8. The drawback is that the "move" tab will not trigger keyframes in this version.

Hi Meshed VR, I would like to put in a crash report, If I load a large Scene such as "WeebU.Demon_futa_3some.1:/Saves/Scene/Demon 3some/D3.json" It loads fine first time, but if I go back to Scene Load Manager, and reload, VaM will become unresponsive and is required to forced close. Current Memory usage for VaM.exe is currently 10,091MB I think the scene is very hefty and possiblt overloading VaM

There may be some fatal error on load that is preventing VaM from working after that. Could you repeat this condition on your computer and then PM me the contents of the file C:/Users//AppData/LocalLow/MeshedVR/VaM/output_log.txt?

Person atoms now get reused between scene loads to allow much faster loading. It could be some morphs are not getting reset, but this shouldn't be the case. I'll try to see if I can replicate the issue you are seeing.

Is there a version coming to the quest, I know this may be a common question.

You can run VaM on Quest using Oculus Link. VaM requires a high-end PC and won't ever be able to run on a standalone headset.

As an FYI.....I run VaM on Quest without the link or my own gaming PC. I subscribe to a high end cloud gaming PC (Shadow) and use Virtual Desktop on the Quest to connect with it. VaM is loaded on the dedicated drive of Shadow's Win 10 desktop. It's as if my Quest has become a Wireless Rift S. I've been running this way since last year. It's a great way to live in the virtual space of the VaM world ...no wires to hold you back.

Someone updated easyMoan for 1.20 and it seems the facial expression issue (at least with easyMoan) has been resolved. Thanks!

I have the basic entry level Boost level for Shadow and run VaM with no problems.

I am having trouble using Session Plugins...every time I do a load, I have to load the Session Plugin again. I thought the Session Plugin was supposed to persist, am I misunderstanding that?

So I just discovered that shadow does not run well in my state. Maybe that's something they will improve on in the future, but as of now it's not really a option for me. Thank you for the recommendation and idea though.

OK. I see from the previous article that I'm not the only one. Losing Session Plugins really destroys the usefulness of items like JayJayWon's UIAssist, which is meant to accompany you on your travels...you really lost something with that.
