I'm currently still nose-deep in code finishing up the new manipulators feature. If you didn't see them already here are some more quick videos I posted on Twitter:

Everything's coming together pretty well now though there's still quite a bit of work to do to.  What I've implemented so far feels very interesting to play with. Hopefully this month I will have a v0.21.0 build ready to post.

As demo'd in the videos there is now a slightly strange UI for quickly setting up and configuring manipulators. I don't know if it's 100% intuitive but for now it works. It's probably something that I will return to at a later date to see if I can make it feel a little less janky.

The editor controls for envelope and slider parameters are fully working now but I need to do the same for Toggle and Option parameters and I'm still not sure how those are going to look. Also still to do is the plugin-side implementation of the "Reverse" manipulator for the Classic and Fudge samplers as talked about in the previous post.

For those who have subscribed recently, the most recent available build is still v0.20.0 which is here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/59719872. If it's too crashy then apparently the previous build, v0.19.1 is a lot more stable: https://www.patreon.com/posts/58150483

Once v0.21.0 is done I will try to concentrate again on improving stability before moving on to implementing more more new things.

Once things are relatively stable again I had the idea of making one build of Blockhead publicly available to everyone, even outside of Patreon, but if you all hate this idea then please let me know! The idea is just to try to draw more attention to the project and hopefully gain more financial support, and letting people actually play around with what I've made so far might be a good way of doing that.

If I can get past the visceral hatred of my own voice for long enough then I may also make some kind of long boring YouTube video explaining what I've done so far and how everything works.

Another thing I will try to do before releasing v0.21.0 is sign up for an Apple developer account so that the macOS build can be properly signed so we don't have to run any stupid console commands anymore to get it to run.

Unfortunately the developer account isn't free, so it's another cost on top of everything else (my landlord also just put my rent up - hooray!) Hopefully if I put a bit of actual effort into explaining what I've made and what I'm planning then this is the year where we get a bit more attention. I don't need very much money to survive so if the subscriber count doubles from what it is at now then I'd probably be in an ok spot. As always a massive thanks to everyone who has continued to support the project!

i just came here to say how much fun i've been having with blockhead! sound design, while very rewarding and fun regardless, is a clunky tedious process with most daws just because theyre not built with that purpose in focus. Blockhead however is insanely intuitive, even in these early stages, and i'm having a blast. it feels hands-on, sort of like finger painting. im excited to see how it grows!
