THE MISHA EPISODE!!!!! Hello, young Castiel 🥰🥰

charmed_olive

Yes))) this was Misha's very first television gig. He is so young here, lol. So, Jack is like my least favorite character in the entire show, I kinda hate him with a fiery passion. Heis not likable, not very well written and so so so wrong as a love interest for Prue. I think he would've been great as just a work rival for Prue that creates some trouble for her, they should've really left him as just that. He would've still been annoying, but at least we would have liked to hate him. Regarding the wardrobe. I am pretty sure it was very much intentional on the costume designer's part. First of all that's just not the kind of tops you wear with a bra(especially Prue's halter top). It's just not. Second, that was the fashion of the late 90's early 2000s, they are trying to keep the girls stylish to the time, and yes, I'm guessing want them to look cute and sexy. Like, to be completely honest, the sex appeal gets really bad at some points in future seasons. Season 2 doesn't have that problem much compared to some later stuff.

Yay more Charmed :) I hope you recover soon, that sounds like way too much pain for an allergic reaction. So you recognised Castiel, but did you recognise Hank from Breaking Bad? :D the no bra thing...yeah girls got overly sexualised throughout the entire show, it's a very deliberate choice and the actresses got so fed up with it that eventually they refused to wear certain type of outfits. Always someone's boobs or nipples are showing, they must've really wanted to get more male audience back then.

they did the same thing to jennifer anniston on friends. i remember watching and being super uncomfortable not because omg nipples the horror but because i was like "okay is SHE comfortable with this!" it's like for half the show she wasn't allowed to wear a bra and looking back at how creepy some people in that industry are it's like okay how much of that was really the actress' choice. hearing this is what the charmed cast was subjected to makes me really feel confirmed in my concerns for jen. tv is wild now but even worse back then and just yikes all around

It's a very normal and common thing in the industry unfortunately. On one hand, same actresses have done other roles where they knew they would be sexualised and show their bodies a lot, so they know what they agree to and choose this role themselves. But in Friends, a wholesome sitcom where Jen played a regular girl in the friend group...or here in Charmed, where it's just sisters who got involved with magic...I don't think they expected constantly showing the nipples would be part of the job. Like for some episodes and costumes it makes sense to max their sex appeal, but it's really annoying when they push it for every other episode for no other reason than to just get males to watch the show. I'm glad Steven, being a guy, is calling it out as a wtf thing.

This won’t be the first time the girls nipples are on full display lol

Ones you see The nipples in friends both Monica and rachel, you notice it in every ep, some seasons!

...am I the only one who never noticed the nipples?? I notice the seriously outrageous outfits but I don't think I've ever zoned in on the nips lol
