Oh HELL YEAH. This is going to be awesome!

Anonymous

I just became a patron and this is my first episode of the after show. Cheers!

Anonymous

Flashing back to about 2005 seeing this kind of stuff fill up the shelves at Wal-mart and random junk shops at the malls. I think I had a blue iRiver CD player for maybe a year before I got my first iPod (a green 4GB mini).

Anonymous

Love the new vid mate luckiest find yet

Anonymous

1-Grit Stress Ball!

Anonymous

Archos is not a good brand to go with it seems! Lol.

Anonymous

Love a good nugget! I don't think you've had any luck with Archos stuff :P

Anonymous

Only a real giga chad can use the giga beat

Anonymous

I legit had that archos with the camera when I was a kid! Pretty sure it has a hell good brick break on itn

Anonymous

the video you did on the bootleg ipods 3 weeks ago was fun to watch, I used to have one of those when I was around 8-9 and I found it again a couple years ago and the inside of mine looked exactly the same as one of the ones you opened lol the camera was so bad

Anonymous

Regarding the other video, did you try plugging in with USB and importing the long video in Photos or the Finder? You might be the only person that has tried to AirDrop an 11 hour video haha.

Anonymous

BREAKING: Local Aussie begins to realize his house is, in fact, full of trash

Anonymous

Friday is Double Dank day! :D

Anonymous

those are total nuggets for sure

Anonymous

That creative one looks like a portable game emulator

Anonymous

If you need to move video off an iPad in the future try saving it to files in the google chrome folder or whatever app you have that is recognised by iTunes in file sharing. I had to do this the other day to get a zip folder off and god it was painful to work out

Anonymous

beans eaten

Anonymous

A Russian iRiver? Looks a bit Volga to me.

Anonymous

Mate i've been loving the vids, discovered your chanel a couple weeks ago and i cant stop watching. Congrats on 6000 patrons, well deserved!

Anonymous

(US here) iRiver made probably the best flash based mp3 players back before Nanos existed. I had an IFP-390T that served me very well... it was an ugly nugget and the UI was clunky, but a single battery got you 20+ hours of play, functioned as USB mass storage, had an actually decent quality voice recorder, and you could encode mp3s from either a line in jack or directly through the FM tuner. very cool for 2003

Anonymous

oough i WISH that creative one worked i LOVE seeing old windows mobile devices like that

Anonymous

Gotta love the nuggets lol

Anonymous

Damn that Toshiba has a really fire library 🔥🔥

Anonymous

Hey please put me in the credits I've been a donator for 2 months still not there

Anonymous

I was really hoping to see that Creative player turn on, kinda sad it didn't. I used to have a Creative Zen Jukebox xTra. Was the best PMP I had until I accidently killed it.

coolmedina117

Ah man I was gonna ask you about sound blaster/creative stuff

Anonymous

Someone PLEASE send him a working Portable Media Center (the black creative) as fan mail when the pandemic ends!

Anonymous

I have a working iRiver H10, in the states.

Anonymous

Cause when I think of quaility, i think of ex-soviet union

Anonymous

Ahh, sweet sweet Russian Post. I hate it so much.. Btw "Muzon (Музон)" is just "music" in street slang.

Anonymous

Man the memories of old creative MP3 players. Before I could afford a iPod lol. I remember owning a zune HD and loving it. To bad it died :(

Anonymous

From Russia, with love. 😂

Anonymous

i love the absolute disrespect for the beans. just one left and it’s in the pit of despair with the dirty raycon

Anonymous

Just got some of the airpods pro after getting scamed off the recons. And holy crap there so good.

Anonymous

Hey! A Gigabeat! I used an older version (pre windows) of a gigabeat from high school through college. I remember wanting an iriver, but I don't remember why.... Sadly I got rid of the gigabeat when I moved after college. Stupid decision.

Anonymous

I must have been the only Aussie to own an iriver. I kind of miss my old E100 now.

Anonymous

My uncle owns an iRiver :)

Anonymous

Hey Dankpods I'm writing you again in hopes that you will soon take the Mojo and blow up a pair of jankphones for us to listen to, please, I really want to see it happen.

Anonymous

Yesssss. I had the iRiver h320, this guys baby brother with only 20GB storage. Learned so much about video formats and converting to play on the very specific requirements that this thing takes.

Anonymous

Another great video!

Anonymous

It’s crazy to think that there was a time when people bought these things. Whoever says that the early 2000’s were a lawless wasteland are completely right haha! Great little bonus video

Anonymous

Pleaseeee find a Sandisk Sansa e280 MP3player that old relic will take me back, I’ve found a few in eBay but they are located in the US

Anonymous

It’s nock off clickwheel glows blue and physically spins 😂

Anonymous

The thing I will always associate iRiver with is the hipsters at my college who constantly talked about how much better they were than iPods when I bought my 5th gen.

Anonymous

Did literally every single nugget use the same charger and voltage?

Anonymous

Can't wait to go to Poland so I can order one for cheap

Anonymous

Spent my first dollarydoo today

Anonymous

"Really cool design under the plastic" - I honestly thought it looked like it had been splashed with water and let dry haha

Anonymous

Volts are probably right , just not enough amperage from that power brick

Anonymous

You’ve gotta get your hands on the iPod classic camera

Anonymous

just so you know, those circular connectors are polarized so its possible that it was just the wrong connector for the device and some of those may work with other connectors. however if thats the case its entirely possible that you fried everything in there by plugging them in, soo...

Anonymous

If you need a US shipping address for someone to forward you mail shoot me a DM, I swear on Shrek I won't steal any of your packages. Just want to help you make content!

Anonymous

Bruh, muzon is like russian slang word for music

Anonymous

Yo, cool stuff! By the way, "Muzon" (pronounced moo-zone, with stressed second syllable) is a Russan slang worg for "music"

Anonymous

Fun Fact: iRiver owns and makes the Astell&Kern players

Anonymous

How funny that you do a video on the iRiver, I remember my best friend back in middle school (~2005) having that same iRiver, or a model very, very close to it, and something made me think of it recently I always thought it was cool when I was younger

Anonymous

Your house has more nuggets than McDonalds 😷 I got a couple old nuggets I no longer use, and I think they deserve a good home. Can I send them on to you?

Anonymous

Just discovered ur channel last week and im totally loved it! And this is even my first time using patreon lol. Would happily supporting more in the future, keep going !!

Anonymous

I might have a couple nuggets that I wouldn't mind passing on to a new owner

Anonymous

yeeeeee

Anonymous

i would love a teardown of some of these would make more content and be fun

Anonymous

actually, i really liked that windows xp mobile interface

Anonymous

holly cow, i actually owned one of these stinky iRivers. the noisiest dac i’ve ever listened to. btw “muzon” means “music”, but it’s 90’s slang)

Anonymous

ha Amazon more like a MUZON

Anonymous

da armage

Anonymous

you absolutely have to open a museum, with your collection of all those odd music players...

Anonymous

That's the least amount of stamps I've ever seen on anything shipped from Russia

Anonymous

iRiver were hooooge in the UK

Anonymous

Those Gigabeats had just the absolute worst interface. It looks neat, and you can definitely tell where the Zune got it's inspiration, but it's animation heavy, kinda slow, and just clunky. They also took FOREVER to boot if you loaded the hard drive with music. My friend loaded their 30gb and it literally took 2-3 minutes just to boot WM

The Ferret

Another stunner, looking forward to that xp box.

Anonymous

An iriver was my first player ever in 4th grade. My dad refused to get me an iPod and told me it was essentially the same thing hahaha

Anonymous

I used that exact model iriver in that exact case all through undergrad, amazing little guy.

Anonymous

I had the iRiver T60 back in 08, a triangular prism kinda deal that ran off AAAs, prolly only 1 or 2gb, loved that thing, found it at JB HiFi, surprised you hadn’t seen many in Aus but I guess it’s been a while.

Anonymous

what an ugly nugget

dankpods

They made some real high end stuff towards the end of the media player wars, real cool stuff

dankpods

Every time I use the Mojo I try to blow them up, that's max volume

Anonymous

find some hit-clips mp3 players

Anonymous

Does it hurt your stats to host these private Patreon videos on your main Youtube account? I'm guessing these videos have a lower number of watches and I've noticed a few other Youtubers I follow separate their channels. For example the YouTuber "The Retro Future" aka Elliot Coll has another account for mods videos that don't get as much views. I know the YT algorithm is tricky and maybe there is other reasons these Youtubers do it, but thought it might be interesting to look into.

Anonymous

I've stumbled across your vids in the last week or so and became a patron today just to check out the iRiver video. I cracked up watching you try and figure out the controls 🤣 I've got a mint H340 (with the box/accessories) that I just replaced the battery in earlier this year with the dual-boot into Rockbox firmware. Used it heaps during ~2005-2010 but since then kinda been sitting in its box in my office 😐 They also play video IF you encode into the right format 😉

Anonymous

I have an "old" iriver that I can lend you for a vid :)

Anonymous

You seemed really jazzed about that

Anonymous

Well I hope you mean borrow for a long time and it coming back ruined. He has bad luck with postage.

Anonymous

from Russia, with... stamps

Anonymous

have you every played with the Now Video Color

Anonymous

My name Jeff

Anonymous

I think the voltage actually matters on the power adapter. Those others might work with a multi-voltage adapter.

Anonymous

Oooooo its windows xp... and then ew 🤣😂

Anonymous

As far as I'm aware (I have YT Premium so I can't verify) he doesn't want to put ads in his videos meaning that patreon is his only income from content creating. Putting these on a youtube channel (even a second channel) would mean that he would have to put ads on them or not make an income at all

Anonymous

Музон :D

Anonymous

Old school iRivers were awesome players tbh. Toshiba Gigabeats feel cursed with their proto-Zune layouts.

Anonymous

i wanna meet the man who fills a toshiba gigabeat with jazz

Anonymous

I had multiple Iriver players growing up, really cool. I took a look at Gigabeat on ebay and damn those seem to be expensive!

Anonymous

i spy herbie handok in the white player.. why didnt you play that.. whyyy.... ahahah

Anonymous

When I was 15 I had a gigabeat and my friend had an iriver and we were the coolest dorks in the classroom 😎.

Anonymous

Woooo its windows xp and then ew.. 🤣

Anonymous

My friend had a Iriver just like that one... And I had a Creative Zen PMD... 😂 WOW! Good times!

Anonymous

I miss my busted Creative Zen so much! still have the charger tho. Maybe ill pick one of these up just to give it a 2nd life

Anonymous

H340 was the fuckin jam back in the day, I really had no business spending so much on it but looking back I got so much use out of it that it was totally worth it

Anonymous

My mom actually had an iRiver! She loved it, used it for around 7 years! First time I heard Third Eye Blind was on my mom's iRiver 😄

Anonymous

iRiver.. never heard of them.

Anonymous

that archos gmini 120 you showed for a bit you said you don't know the voltage it's 5 volts positive tip

Anonymous

Geeghus. My friend had that iRiver thingy. And it was sold as "iPod killer"

Anonymous

Sad the Archos 402 didn't work. I owned one growing up and I loved that thing. You could mod it to run Doom and NES games.

Anonymous

I remember my dad having an Archos portable video player prob around 2005/2006 it was an absolute chonkster but it worked so good for watching films on long car journeys!

Anonymous

I get a lot of packages from Russia because I have connections. So I get a lot of cool stamps.

Anonymous

When you showed that european plug and said: "I dont have an adapter for THIS" I didnt' get it because thats the plug we have here in Germany.

Anonymous

I had an iRiver E100 when they first came out, it was way better than the second gen iPod nano I wanted at the time. Bought it from JB Hi-fi for $250

Anonymous

Наконец-то, блин, нормальный плеер

Anonymous

My Iriver H320 was my favourite thing. Two headphone outs for nerdy couples, and an input I used for my stereo mics for great recordings. Before the iPod Nanos had Voiceover, the H100 and 300 series, and the 80 G iPod classic, were the go to players for blind people because Rockbox could provide speech feedback. When its hard drive died a few years ago I let it go. Now I severely regret that decision. Nothing these days can bludgeon so effectively.

Anonymous

I got to know some artist to listen to, thanks!

Anonymous

Музон (Muzon) is Russian slang for music

Anonymous

navi? LAIN NUGGET?

Anonymous

That Creative thing with Windows looks like it would be cool, what's the name of it?

Anonymous

Please toss me some cool jazz artists to listen to mate, I've got more from this video than browsing youtube for the past year. cheers

Anonymous

The iriver T10 was my first ever MP3 player! It was awkward as hell to use, but I loved it.

Anonymous

Shame about the Archos “gmini” (most ironically named nugget), had one of those chonkster mamma-jammas ... until I dropped it in a basin full of water

Anonymous

In case you were wondering, "muzon" (музон, pronounced "moo zone") is basically a 90's/2000's slang word for "music" (музыка)

Anonymous

I saw Mike Stern live at a Jazz Festival :D I arrived late to his set, only caught the last 15-ish minutes

Anonymous

I actually like how the Windows Media Player UI looks What's the nugget called?

Anonymous

You need to find an iRiver Clix really curious what your thoughts on it, I had gen 1 and gen 2 in like 2007 ish and loved them really curious if you could even find one now

Anonymous

iRiver or as they say in Russia мнеРека

Anonymous

I joined the Patreon just to see the iRiver in action. I had the same one and used for many years. Too many years. I think the 4th gen Shuffle was out by the time I replaced it.

Anonymous

I had one of these H340s. It was legitimately a ipod killer at the time features wise.
