Thanks man for the video love them! Keep in me going during school lol

Anonymous

Random request, but could you include the YouTube link in the text like Big Clive does? I usually get new Patreon posts by email on my phone and it's great being able to jump directly into the YouTube app instead of waiting for Patreon's slow ass to load, then tapping on the video, waiting for it to start playing, then tap on the title to go to the YouTube app. No embed will beat the native app experience.

So much gamma you turn into the hulk using them!

Anonymous

„You’re now manually breathing and you’re aware of your tongue“. Me: 👁💨👁. 👁👅👁. I hate you

Anonymous

Hands up who tried to pull their air pods out by 3 mm, only for the vid to pause 🤪

Anonymous

You just reminded me I have a pair of Pro4AAs I've been meaning to restore for like 3 years now. They appear to have been some very early ones with the gel filled filth pads that leaked eons ago and one of the wires has hardcore snapped

Anonymous

In regards to today's public video what are your feeling about the akg m220 headphones? have you used then at all? I've had mine for over a year now and I absolutely love them

Anonymous

Yo these are the headphones i used in high school for computer classes. They are the jankest

Anonymous

Hello my friend

Anonymous

How often do you have to replace a set of headphones or earbuds for wear and tear? You've got some super vintage kit there.

Anonymous

Just as revenge for the whole "You’re now manually breathing and you’re aware of your tongue" business, mate you've just lost The Game.

Anonymous

I DONT WANNA BE AWARE OF MY TOUNGE >:(

Anonymous

put them dirty headphones at max volume with the colorfly

Anonymous

Legit bought the sammys after your rec, they’re fantastic. First pair of “audiophile” grade headphones, and first open back and I am all about it. We even ended up starting an audio gear chat on the iPod discord if you want to come hang in there sometime!

Anonymous

I love that "good stuff has always been good stuff". I swear like half my gear is pre-2000s.

Anonymous

Awaiting a video where you take the most hopeful components from all the janky headphones and attempt to make a pair that aren't terrible... ShrekPod style, of course!

Anonymous

That is as bad as the Jubilee's I got from massdrop from Sennheiser, literally everything I've tried it on I cannot go over like 4 out of 100... And that's on windows.. and 1 notch on my pixel 2...

Anonymous

Dank where is your amazon affiliate link on the YT vid! That's how you get the Big Bucks!

Anonymous

Ok time for the full headphone tour since you keep pulling out new ones.

Anonymous

awwww I wanted to see them explode :(

Anonymous

Legit, best money I've ever spent, love your videos.

Anonymous

more related to this weeks main vid but my pal finally bit the bullet on a pair of sennheiser 800s and ho-ly SHIT it was like listening to a field, absolutely massive and completely flat, it was ridiculous

Anonymous

i've been a patron for 5 seconds and I already love it

Anonymous

Can you make a shrekpod touch?

Anonymous

Connect them to to 600 ohm DAC!

Anonymous

Nevermind, I just got to the part where you said you don't want to do that :-)

Anonymous

So are those Samson headphones your pick for best headphones under 100 freedombux? I'm thinking about upgrading my audio setup, and I'm thinking about picking 'em up.

Anonymous

Yesterday my wife says “So, I was going through the credit card statement..... WHY is there $600 of purchases from Ebay the past 2 months?!?!?” And I’m like “......IPods, hobby.... headphones.... I’m an adult...

Anonymous

1-Grit Stress Ball!

Anonymous

Love the new video! Have you found a pair of headphones that give the feeling and/or sound sub base.

dankpods

Dang that they leaked out! I’m desperately trying to find some gel filled replacements but Koss doesn’t do it. They seal incredibly, a friend let me have some airplane spec headsets and the gel filled earcups remove ALL the noise.

dankpods

Nah I haven’t sorry, but if you like them then thats the end of the story!

dankpods

My 1985 HD540’s have had the foam replaced before I got them so once every 30 years or so? haha no idea, different environments and different (greasier) faces are going to do different things!

dankpods

Cool man! If you ever want more in the future defs hit the HD600’s and a stout amp/player and you’ll be in heaven 🙌

dankpods

It’s too hard as an Australian and I’d rather folks find a bargain

dankpods

The best ones are my K712’s and T1’s but not because the sub bass is really loud but super LOW. It’s subtle but they hit frequencies that are super cool

Anonymous

my brother managed to get k712's for $350AUD second hand, real bargain. but we did a 1 - 2 with them and just the k702's and the sound is damn near the same, k712 just drives it harder out of the box

Anonymous

I LOVE your content. I wanted more so here I am!

Anonymous

any recommendations on dankbuds or less-dirtybuds that aren't many dollarydoos? i like to not listen to sandpaper but i also like shoving em in my pocket

Anonymous

No barcodes... Yeah barkcodes are from 1974 and where not really common till the late 70's early 80's and i'm guessing these headphones are late 60's early 70's....

GHDaddy

Our elementary school has these EXACT headphones, I can't believe you got your hands on a pair

Anonymous

These are literally what my school had for all 9 years that I was there. Crappiest headphones they could buy with the volume nobs that always made the audio crackle and never actually seemed to adjust the volume. Pair that with the most uncomfortable fit ever and I can't tell you how happy I was when I finally took in my own headphones once I had some lol.

Anonymous

Going back to this weeks video, how do you feel about the Shure SE215 IEMs?

Anonymous

(commenting on the very end of the public video) "I made an Ashens refernce. Do you see?! DO YOU SEE?!?!"

Anonymous

I'm convinced these were the cans we had in my elementary school computer lab.

Anonymous

tin cans probably sound 10x better than theses headphones

Anonymous

We had the exact same headphones (including the side volume adjustment thingy) back in my school however they were not branded GAMMA. I guess they are some kind of generic headphones, they just rebrand it whatever.

Anonymous

KZ ZST, bout 15 dollars and sound really good. removable cable too.

Anonymous

I have a pair of those in my garage!!! Lol they don’t work anymore - my iPod touch blew them up haha!

Anonymous

They had headphones identical to that at the schools I went to, right down to the weird shaped band and the volume knobs.

Anonymous

Any recommendations on bluetooth headphones? I shred every jack that I use with my phone after a year or so. Dunno why tho, I always try to care bout them as well as I can

Anonymous

If you're in the like $60 range, I'd say TaoTronics Soundsurge 85s, I have a pair, they sound pretty good and they have ANC, for the price that's pretty good imo

Anonymous

Please explode them. Please.....?

Anonymous

I absolutely LOVED this episode and its precursor, super fun and educational.

Anonymous

I would really love to see how gaming headsets stack up against good headsets!

Anonymous

I loved how you explain that good audio isn't just for music but can be used for gaming. rocking some m50x's when I game

Anonymous

I stopped watching Vinesauce Joel play The Adventures of Down Under Dan to watch this.

Anonymous

Oooh did I hate it when the 'You are manually breathing and you are aware of your tounge' moment happened. Been 15 mins and I'm still aware

Anonymous

I’ve been rockin’ a pair of cheap £7 Sony earphones that are great for traveling but sound kind of half-assed and faint in a quiet room. Would love to see some kind of regular earphone comparison in case any can match the dirty buds- either way keep making this good stuff my dude, really makes my week!

Anonymous

I bought a pair of those cheap Sennheisers off a homeless guy for 20 bucks a few years back... Also, just curious, where did you get those blue ear pads for the MDRs? I love the color!

Anonymous

If someones interested in actual good, cheap headphones, maybe consider trying out Superlux. They absolutely suck in every other regard, but the sound of my old HD330s is really comparable to expensive headphones like the DT1770 Pro for 1/15th of the price

Anonymous

Great video! Nice Ashens reference, but was that also a Tim & Eric reference towards the end of the public video as well? :)

Anonymous

Really enjoyed this week's videos! idk if you've heard of Superlux, but they make headphones that sound obscenely good for the money. They look kinda janky, but they're about as good as it gets for around 50 dollarydoos a throw. I've managed to lose two pairs of HD681s because I've lent them out and they haven't come back... no biggie, I take it as a compliment.

Anonymous

mf really had me manually breathing

Anonymous

Ayy I have the same ones! They've broken twice but I've managed to fix them.

Anonymous

Don't forget that you are now manually blinking, too.

Anonymous

Could you do a comparison between amazon music hd and tidal? I think it would be helpful for people who are just getting into hi-res audio :)

dankpods

Honestly it’s so so so close that it really doesnt matter. A nice DAC and headphones count the most! Pick the service with the music you want on it 👌

Imagine if DankPods would respond to this comment

Anonymous

Omg I saw those headphones on eBay go for like 5 bucks... Dang, should have bidded on them! DankPods-Approved headphones lol. Here’s the eBay listing: https://bit.ly/31e8U3E

Anonymous

"you're now manually breathing and aware of your tongue" Damn you! *shakes fist*

Anonymous

Are those headphones from the 70s or something?

Anonymous

BLOW THEM UP BLOW THEM UP

Anonymous

Thanks for reminding me I’m breathing and my tongue placement right before I go to sleep lol!

Anonymous

Dayum it would’ve been kinda nice to see you blow them up! Me

Anonymous

*didn’t mean to type “me” lol

Anonymous

no headphones blew up 0/10 haha

Anonymous

I still remember my first pair of Realistic headphones I bought from Radio Shack in the late 70s. Had that volume knob and everything. Gotta start somewhere, right? Next pair were AKG, what a world of difference. Had 'em for years. Funny how my headphones get better while my hearing goes the other way.

Anonymous

Now what happens if you run those puppies through the mojo?

Anonymous

i hate that you said that im manualy breathing and im aware of my tongue.

Anonymous

I hate that you made this comment and made me think of it twice.

Anonymous

They look like the headphones we had in primary school.

Anonymous

They were probably for old portable radios/tape players which were pretty low power

Anonymous

My first thought was ‘Chord Mojo???’

Anonymous

these remind me of the headphones my elementary school used 😂😂😂

Anonymous

Self assembling? They prepared for the future?

Anonymous

I’m super late to this party but I’m sad we didn’t get to experience these with the ears.

Anonymous

I'm like 95% sure those were the same headphones that my high school bought in bulk for all the computer rooms. Not gamma branded but that same exact style with the wire loop adjustments, the coiled cable, and the individual ear volume adjusting.

Anonymous

I love your videos and even sub your patreon and I only now realized you're Dankmus of my favorite Simpsons mixes. Hollllllly crap my mind is actually blown. I bought a big chungus ipod because of you and you're THE dankmus. Wow!

Anonymous

I was wondering before what you thought of the 4AAs - bought them a while back as a replacement for my QZ99s and despite them being 250ohm the ol' MacBook Pro drives them real nice! They are heavy though

Ty34er

So I had to look it up, but barcodes weren't invented until 1973, the first purchase wasn't until 1974 (a pack of gum), and by 1984, only about 33% of grocery stores had them. These are definitely late 70s to late 80s headphones

Anonymous

So sensitive that you need negative volume to make them quiet. Also, I can tell that, even that cheap, they're still made with very hard durable plastic.

Anonymous

Very reminiscent of my first set of headphones. I loved the ability to change the volume on either side. This must have been 1979 and paid for with my first weeks wages after leaving school aged16. Lol

Anonymous

This video unlocked memories of the computer room in elementary school. We used these so we could actually hear our typing tutorial game over all the clacking of keyboards.

Anonymous

Manually breathing, mate why would you do thissssss.

Anonymous

Your nose is in your visual field :o)
