Always wanted one of these. Had a Zune 80GB instead.

Anonymous

Just came straight from the main channel!

Anonymous

Let me guess, the Poo nano has the same black spot issue as well?

Anonymous

RIP Poo Nano bat tree

Anonymous

Hmm, it keeps telling me that the content is unavailable

Anonymous

Like a year ago i got a zune for free but it was an old nano/mini type version but i couldn't turn it on so i broke it for my YT channel

Anonymous

The dingleberry kit has more support then the Zune in 2020

Anonymous

Somehow I got it...?

Anonymous

Yup - can’t watch over here

Anonymous

Not working with the iOS app - but visit Patreon on safari works for me

Anonymous

great job with this one

Anonymous

I can’t watch it on my phone

Anonymous

Comments are turned off on the vid so I’m commenting here. I thought the zunes looked so cool back in the day, I hacked my iPod touch to have a zune theme. It was cool for a few minutes

Anonymous

I had one of these as a kid. It was absolutely great.

Anonymous

Surprised you didn't talk about the Zune HD. Also why didn't you open it up?

Anonymous

(Although my dad handled the software, sooo....)

Anonymous

Also what: It says video playback is disabled on other sites?

Anonymous

the only thing i remember about zune is updating my old windows phone using the software

Anonymous

Space Battle.. thought he said spice butthole

Ty34er

So I needed to watch on YouTube but comment on here. Got it

Tktagmedia

The video has been made unavailable?

Anonymous

unrelated to the video but i just bought a brand new ipod touch because of your video about it!

Anonymous

Man, now I'm tempted to get one of these little things just for collection purposes!

dankpods

Woops sorry about that guys lemme fix it! Folks were stealing these vids and seems it spoils Patreon too!

dankpods

Oh I got one but it deserves a whole other vid, also this Zune works fine so I don't want to scratch it up just out of curiosity as they are hard to get here in Australia

dankpods

It works here now, folks were putting these on unlisted sites so I tried to stop that but it makes it not work here.

Chewie

Yeah! No funny "na-no" though, I have the sads :(

Anonymous

I was really rooting for that weird little "click wheel" replacement on the zune. Too bad it is trash too.

Anonymous

When I was younger I desperately wanted a Zune because I thought the interface was so cool, kind of glad I ended up on the iPod side of the equation in hindsight though

Anonymous

a friend had an OG zune.. and i always called it the giant pencil eraser! that's exactly what it feels like!!

Anonymous

In my opinion the 2nd gen Zune (Zune 80/120 and this smaller Zune 4/8) is significantly better than the iPod at least on the interface

Anonymous

Bud, that's the second time I've seen you put a Sansa player in one of your videos and labeled it as a "failure". :( I had three different Sansas and absolutely loved them! I always felt they were the best you could get if you couldn't afford an iPod. Would love to see a video on those (and some of the other players you own.)

Anonymous

DankPods, do you have Instagram?

Anonymous

You honestly made me spit my drink when I saw Hosei from Gaki no Tsukai in the video... As a Windows phone user( yeees, I accept bullying for that[ Just using it for the camera, because its superb]), in my opinion the interface looks quite nice, the whole WP could have been a good OS, but M$ went into the ring blindfolded.

Anonymous

"Is there any videos on here? Aw, there is! There's a Zune one!" - The only person to ever be excited about a preloaded Zune ad.

coolmedina117

Hey try the touch screen zune at some point

Anonymous

imo Windows Phone is cool, it was extremely optimized, sadly it was too little too late.

Anonymous

darn those party folks!!

dankpods

Knowing what a nightmare these are to get content onto now days, to merely have something to test the video function was a relief!

dankpods

Already got one, alas it has the exact same issues at all the Zoons. Late to the party.

Anonymous

Microsoft is horrible

Anonymous

wish.com mp3 player

dankpods

Just the one that I let Frank take charge of, I always link it in my vid descriptions ✌️

dankpods

Haha good devices or not sadly they sold so poorly that they can be really hard to find! I got some Sansas hanging around and some boxed other players that I will defs get around to! I'm super interested in the iPod competitors ala "Media Player Wars"

Anonymous

If you hate that brown Zune so much can I just have it? lol. I loved mine back in the day.....

dankpods

HA you wish! I love it as a weird piece of tech history. It will live valiantly on my shelf 🙌

Anonymous

Have you heard of the Samsung Serenata ?

Anonymous

I had totally forgotten about the "Zune Pad" models. I knew a couple people with the poo brown OG Zune and I had a Zune HD for a while. As was usually the case the Windows software was awful and took several attempts to get working but the Zune HD itself was pretty nice. Later on I made the mistake of buying into the Microsoft Band (Fitbit competitor). Bad software of course but some good ideas otherwise. Got rid of it because the "skin" peeled off and the screen was a scratch magnet. And of course Microsoft gave up on it after a couple years. (Right after the 2nd gen showed promise and 3rd gen was supposedly ready to launch.)

Anonymous

Didn't that Zune have an OLED screen? Also I've heard the dac was pretty good.

dankpods

Strange how Msoft has so much money but regularly make lame stuff....

Anonymous

Microsoft makes horrible software and their hardware is just as terrible with their HORRIBLE QC..

Anonymous

This was my first decent mp3 player! I used this guy (a red 4gig) all through high school. Those games are so nostalgic, and I wish mine still worked :'(

Shame to believe that this had the 4th gen iPod nano AND the 1st gen iPod Touch and iPhones to compete with. Makes me wonder how much more we would appreciate the touch style controls on the Zune if Apple hadn't out-engineered Microsoft when it came to portable media players

Anonymous

I actually had this in blue and in 8GB, loved it to bits

Anonymous

I think the Zune runs WinCE.

Anonymous

I lowkey loved my zune back in the day but thats cause i never got an ipod till the touch but the space battle game i played that all the time

Anonymous

what is your fav nano?

Anonymous

I hope you know that this iPod showed in the guardians of the galaxy https://youtu.be/j2GC1dFjeZU

Anonymous

I actually used to own the 5th gen Nano and it was a really good music player for the time. Though I never used the camera,... it was trash. I later owned the 4th gen iPod touch and that was a huge upgrade.

Anonymous

My carry during the whole MP3 player thing was a sony walkman MP3 player. I really liked that little thing!

Anonymous

You gotta get the zune HD now lol

Anonymous

I truly loved my Zune. I have never purchased any apple product. A friend gave me an old Nano (gen 1, I think) and I used it for a while.

Anonymous

i still have my gold nano and it works perfectly still. the battery is less than ideal but it’s still it great shape

Anonymous

Na-no poo.. the Zune never get off here or I missed it completly😂

Anonymous

I had the 8 GB Zune Mini that finally died on me a few years ago when the battery decided to swell up to the point that the thing decided to break open on its own. The only reason I bought it was, at the time, it was double the storage vs the ipod nano for the price. At the time, I think I was ready to try something new and thought that MS could of been the one that gave Apple a run for their money. Well we all know how that turned out. I still shudder at their app you had to use and archaic it was. They really forced their "Metro UI" on everything that they released up to Windows 8. The only good thing about that app was the Marketplace and the subscription service. Totally ahead of their time. I even bought a Zune HD because of how invested I got into that service. Too bad somebody stole it when I was working at the local hospital at the time and reverted back to the Zune mini. Still, I have fond memories of both devices. Funny enough, my first gen iPod mini outlasted them both. Go figure.

Anonymous

You can get software ro update the zune and bypass the bricking update Microsoft put out. I fixed my 1st gen poop zune with it. I have the touch zune and its njce

Anonymous

One of the reasons the Zune didn't sell well in Israel is because it sounds like. the Hebrew word for "fuck". I still remember the guy at the tech segment on the news making fun of that

Anonymous

I've got both the older Zune and the touch one, but the touch one refuses to boot, even with power. Otherwise I'd totally send it over, it's in great shape.

Anonymous

My sister had one, it just died a not long ago; the battery swelled and popped it open. Not like it was a huge loss, Microsoft killed it way before that when they thought that only being able to use the zune software to put media on it was a good idea... and then killed the entire project.

Anonymous

My dad still uses his chunky Zune to this day. I remember thinking that it was really cool when he got it, but looking at it now: it is just chunky and REALLY heavy.

Anonymous

I fucking loved my zune, honestly was a pretty great product, I never had any issues with it.

Anonymous

I have a zune hd laying around i would be happy to send you. It is the best zune by far.

Anonymous

Apple to Microsoft: "I am so 2008! You're so 2000 and late"

Anonymous

what does ‘venerable’ mean, he said it when talking about the nano
