Update Status (Patreon)

Hey all,

Just wanted to drop a quick note for those not on the Discord or the Twitter account where I've dropped a bit more information lately. I was wanting to get the update out within the month of July but that may not happen. We only have one day left in July and I still need a few more things completed and then coded in. As it stands right now, I could release the update without these two components. However, I'd rather include them if I can:

1. Chapter Quotes: I've stated in the previous DevLogs that the new update would have each chapter in the game starting with a game quote that exists somewhere in that chapter. I think these are fun and it honestly motivates me to write at a higher level that's actually quotable. These would be throughout the entire game and not just in chapter 9. However, since this new update starts a new chapter, it makes sense for the first thing for you to see is the new chapter quote for chapter 9 so you actually get a feel for these. Thus, I'd rather add it into the initial Patreon release and not just wait for the typical hotfix v2 that comes out free.

2. Quick movie: So in contrast to the end of the last update, this update will not have any animation in it. That's mostly because the animation at the end of the last update took 9 months alone. However, I want to include a short movie file in this update similar to something we've seen in the past (sorry it's vague but I'm avoiding spoilers). I will state that the update could be released without this but ideally, I think with  it, the emotional impact of one particular scene will be enhanced, which is really important to me at this moment in the story. 

After that, it should be a quick run through and testing and we should be good to go. So I'm hoping the game will be released by the end of the weekend. Also, releasing it on the weekend gives me more time to interact with the community and respond appropriately to any problems that pop up on release day. No clue what time that would be. I used to release in the morning but if I get it done in the middle of the night, I'm just going to drop it.
