Oh my god PD you don’t know how much I have been anticipating this! I thought this would never come out due to the recent events. I’m so grateful as a neverland!

Anonymous

Yaaaaaas was hoping this would come out. Been listening to this EP nonstop since it came out.

Malaki.H

Ooh are we getting a boy group listening party as well?

jimmirakeul

Wasn't expecting this but i'm here for it! This EP is amazing. By the way, Dahlia was actually produced by Minnie not Soyeon. Moon too. Yuqi produced Lost. I'm happy that other members also helped in producing the album.

BaoziBang

I'm so obsessed with Dahlia!

Amberrr

Moon & Dahlia were co-written by Minnie Lost was co-written by Yuqi!

Anonymous

Its been 84 years... Thank you so much for reacting!

jimmirakeul

actually Moon & Dahlia were co-produced by Minnie. It was Soyeon who wrote the lyrics

Anonymous

It's funny you mention that Dahlia sounds like a rejected title track, cause that's actually what Hwaa was last year if I'm not mistaken.

Otto

According to the girls Hwaa was postponed for a long time until it became a title track.

Tesa

for the most part i do think this mini album is very cohesive except for Where is love. that song sticks out too much to me and i don't know, i'm just not a fan of it. it sounds a bit cheesy? the other songs though, especially Dahlia, are just gorgeous!

Anonymous

It's incredible how cohesive the album is given that the songs were written by three different members who are at different levels of songwriting experience. Having songs flow from Soyeon > Soyeon > Minnie > Soyeon > Yuqi > Minnie and it WORKS shows how much they think about and communicate in their production process. Idle is developing into a killer group of artists and songwriter/producers, and I'm always excited to see what interesting music they come up with.

HOLY FUCJK YTES

Making this so cohesive while have three different primary song writers was a hell of an accomplishment

I felt the same way about Where Is Love. I'm okay with it, but the rest are A+ and in a completely different league, IMO!

Anonymous

I agree with your sentiments. From the first time I listened to this project, I was impressed by the cohesion, the storytelling and the folksy non-kpop mood. Great comeback from G-IDLE

Anonymous

This is their best album in my opinion I bought the physical copy as soon as I heard it the whole project. Gidle has such a unique style

I've only been listening to Kpop since 2017 so I may be completely wrong about this but it feels like Kpop companies/Idols are starting to put way more effort into bsides and albums as a whole. Before I would just listen to the title tracks and maybe one bside, but now (for me at least) the EP/albums are starting to feel more riveting and more creative. Projects like I Burn, Eyes Wide Open, Querencia, Never Gonna Dance Again Pt 2, Fever Pt 2, The Book Of Us: Entropy, I find myself constantly going back to them and still finding so much enjoyment, which never happened before. Basically what I'm trying to say is I'm thoroughly enjoying this current era of Kpop, it's so much more engrossing not just visually or performance wise, but musically as well.

PD should definitely check the songs credits rather than assuming Soyeon did everything! lol

So happy you filmed this ! I was really looking forward to it ^^ To me all G-idle EPs are amazong and they don’t have bad B sides. I Burn was not different and I still listen to it everyday. Daliah is my favorite song on the album and I was holding my breath for your reaction after you said you hoped it would luve up to Lost. Thank you for the video PD ! EP of the year !!

Lukáš Glumbik

I loved everything about this album. From Hann (my favorite) to Dahlia, LOVE. THEM. I do have to say that the chorus for Where is love is not for me, not really a fan of that transition but overall, loved it. Sincere thank you for reacting to it. PS - Soyeon said that you Hann (alone), Hann (alone in winter) and Hwaa are a journey in and of themselves and recommended listening to those three in that order. Just a fun fact for ya there. PPS - Your facial expressions are SO HARD TO READ dammit PD.

Wodgenia

The only critic I have for this album is that's GOD DAMN SHORT ! Everytime I see how long it is (18 min) I wanna cry, this should have been a full album T^T I love this album SO much. How is this possible that they listened to it and said yeah, let finish the album there with Dahlia, a song that DEMAND a follow-up. My reaction was EXACTLY the same, I was so shocked that such a good album finish in a unfinished feeling ! What a strange choice to close an album with a song that have an open ending...I don't think they will do a repackage for it but oh god if they do I will buy it for sure !

"Really good country music... but in Korean." I LOVE that comment about "LOST." Honestly, I became a patreon in the hope that you would have a listening party for this album. I ADORE (G)I-DLE. They're just so amazing. I randomly so "Oh My God" & have been quasi-obsessed with them. They just... I think they know how to create a mood. They create poetry. "Dahlia" is my favorite song. I've used it to convert people as fans. It's just... This is an album I listen to walking around neighborhood alone at night to feel better about the sadness, weirdness, loneliness, & yet beauty of life. Especially this last year. This album is my favorite of the year. I love that you said it was a Work of Art. Also... wouldn't (G)I-DLE make a great musical? Also Also. I LOVE Yugi's voice. I just adore a lady with a low vocal range. She mentioned in a Teen Vogue article that she listens to a lot of Dua Lipa... & I was like... whoa. I like women with lower vocal ranges. I was ALMOST annoyed you didn't give it a 10 out of 10 but then you talked about it more. I kind of wonder if you'd personally change your opinion on further listens? I'm truly curious. I've already listened to this album.... too many times. Like. Too many times. Anyway. So glad you reviewed & listened to this album. I'm so excited to watch more of your patreon only stuff. Truly. You've been a light in the darkness of the past year. <3

The intro and the whole storytelling concept gives me such Nightwish vibes.

For me, Hann has styled in a way similar to traditional Chinese song, the instrumental is used and its name, 寒, in Chinese it means the cold feeling in winter, can be interpreted mentally or physically. And the song with a solemn and stirring mood still describes a sad/lonely mood, just like its song title, alone in winter, a woman's heart has recovered from betrayed anger and bitterness and fallen into a lonely winter. Dahlia stands out to me at first listen; it feels pretty intoxicating in the emo of persist... (I check the translation of lyrics...: Facing the lovers who are hard to give up, the women choose to continue their love; song wides I can feel there is the sense of even knowing the danger but with the perseverance to keep chasing smth or whatever, and keep holding this feeling because its "addicted." AND the flower Dahlia, red Dahlia represents enthusiasm and boldness,,,, .... dmn this album is so god (btw I’m not familiar with this group,, only know their ... ‘ohmygod’ mv

its only a couple mini albums in and Yuqi and Minnie are already writing some of the songs. What a group
