(Because that’s what my partner said when I proudly presented it to her)
Which end would you rather have?
I figured out a new way to animate flowing, eh , fluids, and used it way too much. Not perfect yet, but better than I could do otherwise 😅
Overall I'm really happy about the whole thing, though I wanted to do more details and polishing, but I ran out of time due to technical issues. Have a wall of text about it:
~
The end of the month was ~two weeks away and the animation was nowhere near finished when Toon Boom started BSODding whenever I tried to render anything (and different error codes every time). After a couple of days of frustration and panicking I gave up and completely reinstalled Windows.
Next I had to wait for Toon Boom support to release my license key, since apparently I should had released it myself before the windows reset.
No more BSOD! Even the other crashes I used to have when duplicating layers don’t happen anymore! Everything works now! Yay!
...but only for the first 600-ish frames. Then it somehow jumps back to frame 140 and loops indefinitely?!? This took way too long to figure out, since the whole thing takes six hours to render. First I assumed the rendering process was just freezing, and I thought I was going crazy when the progress bar showed 40% when it had been at 60% an hour ago. After a while I finally managed to narrow it down down to the software being unable to render the frame number 666. At this point I was quite ready to accept my pc was posessed, but in the end it turned out the software just can’t handle scaling a layer to 0% along any axis.
So yeah, ¼ of the month was pretty much wasted on that bullshit.
