So once again, sorry for the massive delay as I was distracted by Stable Diffusion and other stuff.

Anyway - Here's, finally, a new Flowframes version.

It adds the latest RIFE 4.6 model to all implementations (NCNN/VS/CUDA), fixes some important bugs and UX issues.

The output format selection has been completely remade, replacing the entire settings tab. Instead, you can now pick the output container, codec, quality and color format independently, without needing to open the settings.

Image sequence output now also works with RIFE-NCNN-VS.

Some bugs with the queue have been fixed - For example, when queueing up image sequences, you are now prompted to set their frame rate the moment you add them - Not during queue processing which would make the batch processing feature pointless.

RIFE-NCNN-VS no longer shows an error if you try to interpolate inputs that have a resolution that's not divisible by 2 (can happen with GIFs or frames), instead it automatically adds padding.

Thanks! There is only one issue with this version: The NVENC (H.265) HEVC encoder is not working anymore on GTX1060. With version 1.39 the NVENC H.265 encoder is working without problems. I can still use H.264 encoder but I would like to use the H.265 NVENC encoder just as before. Can you please fix it? Thanks in advance!

According to the error message it's related to B-Frame support. This version (1.40) requires B-Frame support for HEVC encode, but Pascal encoder does not support it. The previous versions didn't have such requirement, they worked without B-Frame support. Your RTX 4090 has no issues because it has much better encoder with full B-Frame support in HEVC. Pascal architecture has B-Frame support only in H.264. So the problem is that somehow this latest 1.40 version made B-Frame support under HEVC mandatory. Here is the original error message: "MessageBox: VapourSynth interpolation failed with an unknown error. Check the log for details: [E] pad:default -> Stream #0:0 (hevc_nvenc) [E] [hevc_nvenc @ 00000208b2ebe640] B frames as references are not supported [E] [hevc_nvenc @ 00000208b2ebe640] No capable devices found [E] Error initializing output stream 0:0 -- Error while opening encoder for output stream #0:0 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height [E] Conversion failed! [E] Error: fwrite() call failed when writing frame: 3, plane: 0, errno: 32 (Error)" Version 1.39 works perfectly with H.265 NVENC because in version 1.39 B-Frames under H.265 were only optional and not mandatory, but I'm just guessing.

Hi! I use Flowframes for both .gif and .mp4 formats. There is a colorshift when creating a gif as I know you're aware. The solution for me was to use "-pix_fmt yuv420p -vf scale=out_color_matrix=bt709 -colorspace bt709 -color_primaries bt709 -color_trc bt709" in the additional (Output) Arguments under Developer Options. This worked great in 1.39 but in 1.40 I'm getting this error when I try to interpolate a video. "[ffmpeg] -vf/-af/-filter and -filter_complex cannot be used together for the same stream. Canceled interpolation." I have to remove the output arguments every time I switch between gif and mp4. This didn't happen in 1.39. So far I've tested it using XVFI(CUDA) with the X4K1000FPS model and RIFE(CUDA) with the 4.6 model.

When using any Vulkan RIFE model, I keep getting this weird issue. Doesn't even interpolate anything and says waiting on encoding to finish, then gives me an error. This is with 4K footage. It seems to work n do better with 1080p tho. I have not tried the CUDA RIFE model. I just wanted to try the custom FPS of Vulkan. Because both RIFE NCNN VS and the original freezes b4 doing anything as shown in those screenshots. It either says waiting on encoding to finish then produces that error shown, or it doesn't interpolate at all n jumps straight to tryna encode the file for some reason. Matter of fact, the only RIFE that works with my 4K videos is RIFE CUDA only. Both RIFE VS n regular work fine on all videos 1080p n below. They're just clearly having trouble doing anything for my 4K videos

This is why I don't use RIFE NCNN or RIFE NCNN VS at all in any version u released after 1.37 (the only one that never gives me issues with my 4K videos in ALL RIFE models). Either gives different errors when starting the process, or keeps checking the hard drive for space for HOURS before doing anything or right after 20-24 hours of interpolating (version 1.37 gets my 4K videos done in less than 10). RIFE CUDA is the only model that seems to work fine in all ur versions for me personally (still gets stuck at the checking hard drive for hours part tho). Here's yet another error that's now happening. This is with RIFE NCNN VS: https://ibb.co/g4k4yGC It's either both RIFE NCNN and VS gives errors no matter what I change, checks the hard drive for hours before or after encoding (too much time wasted) or takes 20-30 hours to interpolate any 4K video over 20 min (version 1.37 only took 10 or less per video). CUDA also takes hours to check the hard drive on all versions after 1.37. I give up, I'm going back to 1.37. All I have to do is copy n paste the new models from ur new releases into 1.37 n I'm golden (most of the time). I've tried all the new versions after and 1.37 is the only one that NEVER produces ANY problems. I'm sticking with that. I'll keep downloading ur newer updates to check if the "checking hard drive for hours" message gets fixed, encoding takes less time like 1.37 (20+ hours vs 10 or less. It's no contest), and it doesn't give any errors at all with 4K/8K input. I can do 4K 240fps and 360fps with both RIFE NCNN and RIFE CUDA in 1.37 no sweat... again, ty for ur hard work. Apologies if I sound frustrated. Ur program is way better than Topaz's. With some tweaking/fixing, it'd be perfect

No issues here, just a strange observation: When I used RIFE CUDA 4.6 on freshly rendered frames (.png) the interpolation produced rubish. Interpolating the same input, but already transcoded to H.265 the result became almost flawless.

hey, any suggestions for removing any artifacts when interpolating transparent 2d animations (I want to turn 10 frames into 30 frames for a video game project)? I tried many, many combinations of settings

Topaz Video AI could do the trick after the Frames Interpolation with Artemis Model. You could do also frame and denoise at once with that tool, but frame interpolation of Flowframes is visibly better in most cases

I've used the free version for so long I thought I would finally pay the fee to show my support. Very disappointed to discover this version is broken/errors out constantly and the developer has gone radio silent. I understand you're just one person and have multiple active projects, but right now I don't see any reason to pay the patreon fee in the coming months? I'm downgrading to the free version since that never caused any issues.

For anyone struggling with bugs installing and running 1.40. I received error saying it couldn't import skvideo.io and couldn't find avcodec-60.dll and other dlls but this will probably fix other issues. When you install it will ask "Select GPU Acceleration" select "Vulkan + CUDA (NCNN, Python Frameworks)" If you select auto detect you won't get the next install screen. where it asks "Select Python Installation To Use" select "Install Embedded Python runtime with all dependencies. If you need to export to ProRes note that some of the options are just broken. I know that the following works: Mov, ProRes, 444, YUV 4:4:4 10-bit.

Hello, I recently downloaded the latest version and the product listed does not work correctly, When trying to import png and export it .. the image sequence turns out destroyed or it turn out super extremely slower not true to its original video.. instead of adding frames it like just makes it slow and choppy

Hey, I can not install the program. It displays "download failed, could not establish trust relationship for the ssl/tls secure channel". Is it my fault or do you have to update your certificate?

EDIT: Thanks! It works again! Sadly I get an installation error. Is there RTX 4080 support? Otherwise it would be useless to me. Some SSL Connections failed in the final installation process. Thanks!
