I was going to post this as a video, but apperantly Patreon only accepts video links and I'm not into making a Vimeo account just for this lol.

5.5 will introduce extensive character customization options in the form of classes, skill trees and weapon proficiency. The classes that are currently planned are: Crusader, Ranger, Warden, Channeler, Arcanist and Duelist. Each class includes its own sub-classes, complete with their own unique skill trees, that you unlock as you level up (yes, levelling up is now a thing outside of Katrina's cauldron). Increasing weapon proficiency will allow you to use a certain weapon type (ie swords) more effectively, increase their damage, their accuracy, critical rate etc. Branching into the sword side of the appointed skill tree will also unlock sword-specific skills and abilities. This applies to every weapon type and is usually bound by class. Additionally, a plethora of new weapons and weapon types are introduced, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. This should allow for very customized playstyle and character building.

You can also notice a new UI, menu layout looks and font. The changing of every text window when a Domina speaks has been painstakingly changed one by one for the new window textures and a spelling check has taken place. The refilling of Soul Shards is also moved to a hotkey instead of the Lake for easier access. There are numerous other core changes that I'm going to mention later on.

Note that everything you see is still under development and subject to change. The Bitch Boy teasers for the new scenes will continue being released as we are getting closer to release.

Cheers babes ;)

Wow, this is a lot more robust than I was expecting! Just a thought on Soul Shards now that a level system is being worked on: since there's still the possibility of spending all your foreign shards at the Reaper and then saving yourself into a game over situation, perhaps in the future you could have the option to lose EXP as a last resort instead of submitting to the Reaper? You'd be punished for reckless spending without being forced to restart the game that way. And who knows, maybe if you do it enough and screw yourself over with your levels all the way down to 0, perhaps there could be a special event game over for achieving the feat? Just a thought. Excited to see how it turns out!

The new update will give you the ability to restore however many Soul Shards you want instead of a fixed 7. If you only have 1 Foreign Shard yet, you can use it to restore 1 Soul Shard. I think this, along with the big, pulsating, red "SOUL SHARDS: x" and the hearts above, is enough to remind you of the danger when you're getting low. Other than that, there will be ways I haven't revealed yet for gaining Foreign Shards without necessarily losing Soul Shards (ie by losing to a Domina) pretty reliebly in the new update, so I don't think further protection is needed.
