SEP. 2021 REWARD (Lineart) (Patreon)

And here I was hoping I wouldn't be running late for finishing a monthly reward this year... Oh well. In any case, though, this month (October) will see the release of Metroid Dread, and it was all too appropriate that you voters selected Samus Aran as the subject of September's reward! Samus is a classic tickle victim and I can definitely see why, but I added her to the monthly reward poll because I realized I simply hadn't drawn her yet until now due to my attention being drawn to a lot of other things. Well, it was lucky for me that you've been kind enough to have her be the majority vote, because I've only drawn Samus exactly once before and that wasn't a tickle pic or even a good illustration in general! I went with a typical scenario that she's probably been through a million times before, being stuck in alien goo and at the mercy of a couple of her enemies from the Metroid series - kudos if you can identify them all without looking it up first! ;)

I vacillated between having this being a multi-variant piece like the reward for July, since I'd have ideally drawn two different versions of this pic, one with her iconic original armor (sans helmet and boots) and one with the Zero Suit. I went with just the latter for the lineart for clarity but when I get around to cleaning this piece up and coloring it, I might also add another layer with the Power Suit or at least whatever I can put on her without having to erase anything important. I'm a bit pressed for time since I intend to finish the reward this week, though, so if it has to come to it I'll just go with only the Zero Suit version, though I'm sure it wouldn't matter too much to you guys as long as she's laughing up a storm. =P

The final version of this piece will be available on the day of Metroid Dread's release: Friday, October 8!
