If you're interested, Hobkins are a magical race from the DnD World I'm slowly building O:! They live in a massive, country sized crator that was created by a mysterious event many 10's of thousands of years ago! 

This event opened a wound in the earth, exposing magical leylines that spewed forth magical energy! The same energy that eventually gave birth to many magical creatures, including the hobkin, and a colossal tree that produces magical nectar and fruits for those creatures.

Today, the Hobkin have difficulty surviving in any place that doesn't have an abundance of magical energy, and so they wear specially made bracers and chokers that act as portable mana sources so they can survive outside of the crator without suffering magic deprivation.
