A geometry shell would end up with bleed through by anything below it in certain poses. Best if it's just one mesh whenever possible.

I built the suit around strand-based hair and that turned out to be rather underwhelming. So, I'm using a fur shader from DAZ3D and it does look better. I still have to sculpt in details (folds, stitching, seams, etc).
The chisato one isn't that complex, except for the ring between the breasts, which will distort rather badly on body shape changes and poses. If it's above the breasts it won't distort as much.
ok, so this is outfit is made in marvelous designer and there is a bunch of problems going on. biggest issue here is the tassels are super thin, so you cant see them from curtain angles, and it creates gaps. and look at the end of the tassels, they are rounded off cause of the subdivision, also something we dont want to happen. it does drape correctly though, but i think thats cause of the length of the tassels, they longer they are the heavier the get, so thats actually a good thing as for the vest, there are some tassels on the chest area, so that will give problems too, so im not sure if we should do this yet

The big problem I'm having right now is that when I export out from Painter, I hoped that the files would be based on the UDIMs and not the surfaces themselves. Right now, the mask has three surfaces: fabric, trim and laces, but they're all on the same UDIM. I had hoped that when it exported, it would be just one set, instead of four textures for fabric, four textures for trim, and four textures for laces because that's a lot of files that are a bit wasteful. I'll keep you updated.
It will be done within two weeks. I'm not having as much trouble with it as I thought I would, which has me a bit worried. Usually, something goes wrong.

The easiest parts are mostly done.

I ended up in a situation where I couldn't find out what was causing the problem with textures. Eventually figured out that the subdivision modifier was mangling the UV layout so I have to keep that issue in mind for future items.
I do find it easier just to have the Patreon because putting items up on DA and Gumroad can be frustrating.

You can apply the Chisato textures to the Wresting Boots 2022. As for the items, I've already set them to be released in December 2023. One a week.
I messed up the roughness on the boots. Under Glossy Roughness, I have her suit map instead of the one for the boots.

ok, its up. took a bit longer cause i was sick last couple of days. if you want wrinkles all over the place, easiest way to do that is to google for wrinkled paper, and then add that texture as a bump map to the outfit. the problem with making wrinkles like you trying to do now, is that it will never look natural. cause wrinkles are always different depending on the pose your character is in. thats why we really need to use dforce or MD to get the wrinkles in the right places
1) What is left to do with Yukiko? 2) Chisato's is coming. Untested and still untextured. 3) I'll look into the dForce issue.

I had to do some major surgery to it to get the transparency effect to work right.
I haven't tested to see how the laces will behave when posing. My only worry.
the problem with using textures is that wrinkles are fixed on a specific place, but thats not how wrinkles work. wrinkles move depending on how your character is posed, so in every pose wrinkles are different. and thats what makes marvelous designer and dforce in daz really great compared to any other 3d application, which is just not possible to create with normal, bump and displacement maps lets do this one: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FHqDjLwagAEzf_y?format=jpg&name=orig do you know of any other reference pics for this outfit. if you can find one of the back side as well, that would be really handy

yeah, the transfer utility is only so you have a start, but after that you need to setup some weight maps to correct things. it never works straight out of the box. i think its all done, i just need to do some testing with different shapes to see how the outfit holds up. so it will be ready tomorrow well, i changed it cause you said that. i started out with a single piece so it looked just as all the pictures you send me, but you said it would look better to change it to two separated pieces, so thats what i did.

Well, it should work in any pose that is inside Genesis 8 pose limits. What I was more concerned about is bending at the ankle and knee. I've got it in DAZ and it's not distorting badly at all when posed. Going to throw some shaping tests on it. The suit will be in three parts: suit, gloves and boots. Each will have their own texture set.
well, thats the thing, i can do it in marvelous designer, 3ds max or blender, without any problem. even with very low densities just so you know, thats not really how dforce works, it looks at the base mesh, not the sub division level when simulating. so there has to be some kind of trick they are doing. do you know any outfits that have these tassels going on? i can try an do what they are doing if i can take a look at it
