It felt like it was originally a much better movie that made braver creative choices, and then the marketing and PR departments vetoed half of it.

In all honesty, what bothers me the most about the movie is not what we can see as basic structure or narrative flaws, which all three movies suffer basically for the lack of planning. It's the fact that this particular story is very transparent and allows to see the story behind: weird corporate decisions, director rivalries as well as the totally surprising micromanagement from Iger over KK -because if someone was supposed to be all over Kathleen's decisions was Alan Horn and here he was nowhere to be seen (or maybe he's dealing with the Fox mess and was given a pass on this other mess). Oh, and the politics of the story group because they're the Millhouse of this tale. Also, it also makes it painfully obvious that these movies are a cash grab to get a quick turnaround, and that the true creative developments of Star Wars under Disney will come from D+ first and then if there's another story worthy of the big screen as well as a screenwriter and a director willing to take on this mammoth, then they'll go back to a feature film format. Their true test is Mando (won't grade it to avoid spoilers), the Clone wars wrap up (a show you should totally check out since its showrunner and now almost the adoptive son of George Lucas started on Airbender and was hired by LucasArts specifically for CloneWars) and the Kenobi show. Those are the ones they just have to knock out of the park. Only then we'll know if the IP's future is bright or over.
