Important: Patreon VAT Changes (EU) (Patreon)

Just got an interesting email regarding VAT (Value Added Tax) for Patrons in the EU, which is nice and confusing for those of us facing an impending departure from it but I suppose that's a discussion for another day.

Right now, apparently, Patreon is going through a phase of verifying where people live to confirm that they're paying this tax appropriately on their pledges. As a result, some of you might see changes to the amount you pay. The email states that it will email affected patrons in advance to explain what the difference will be, but we figured we'd give you a heads up about it right now.

The email also provided this handy dandy link for you to visit if you have any questions or would like further info.

So there you have it folks, sorry to be the bearer of potentially bad news but hopefully it won't affect you guys too badly.

As always we appreciate all your support but understand that changes to Patreon fees inevitably mean a threat to the viability of your continued financing of our work here. We don't love you any less if you have to leave. Just continue to support us wherever else you can, on tumblr, twitter, etc.
