Hello everyone! Hope everyone's been enjoying studying and paying for your subscriptions (I mean, in-game of course)! Apologies for the delay of this update as I caught covid recently and that was no fun. I had some body aches and lost of sense of taste, all the typical symptoms :( but I'm back to normal now more or less after about 2 weeks so it's all good!

Development has been going great, and we are sailing relatively quickly in adding in new gameplay. The main issues I am beginning to see is that we need a lot more game content so that is our focus going forwards.

We've been thinking about what features to add next and after checking our roadmap and planned features, we came up with…. *drum rolls* Furniture Colouring (what was kind of expected and needed in LSW)! A whole new customization system that will allow the player to have an even prettier house!

But how will this work? Will it be free? How can I change my bed to turn it into a lovely canvas for me to paint on? Here we are to answer these questions!

How do I paint my furniture?
To allow the painting of our furniture, we had to create a whole new furniture system that allows changing the colour of these, so expect visual changes on some of your current furniture!

If you want to paint… let's say your bed, you'd have to go home, enter Build Mode, pack your Bed onto your inventory, and go to the D&Y Store where we have now added a whole new section made just for this new patch! Don't forget that everything comes with a price btw~ 😉

Once you're at the D&Y Store, go to the back of the store and you should see a new interactable section, the Handicraft section. You'll be able to interact with the workbench that's there, drag your already packed furniture from your inventory onto the colouring UI, and choose your colours! Confirm, pay and you're done!

And Terry, what do I do if I don't want to pay the D&Y store to paint my bed? Well, we do have a solution for that!

INTRODUCING A WHOLE NEW FUNCTIONAL FURNITURE, THE WORKBENCH! It can be bought at the D&Y Store counter.

At the workbench, the player will be able to paint most pieces of furniture that they own and it will also have its own inventory to store… Paint Buckets! These can be bought at the D&Y (Yeah, they'll get paid anyway).

B- But… I don't have to buy a bucket for each colour that I want, right? Exactly! We do have two kinds of Paint Buckets at the moment:

Basic Paint: Using this will show the basic colour palettes when the player decides to use it on a piece of furniture. The customizable colour palettes are greyed out when using this.

Premium paint. Using this will allow the player to access the basic colour palettes plus the customisable palettes - it will display a colour wheel when clicked.

If the player only has premium paint in their inventory and chooses to use basic colour and not the customisable one, they can still do so.

The step by step for painting your furniture at home will be as follows:

1. Player enters BuildMode to repack their furniture.
2. Player exits BuildMode and interacts with the workbench.
3. The workbench's popup displays the colour picker UIs, for both primary and secondary colouring. The UI will have an empty preview of furniture. The player has to drag a piece of packed furniture from their inventory onto the workbench and the preview will appear.
4. The player now has to select the primary (and/or secondary) colour. Once set they'll be able to see a preview of their soon-to-be painted furniture.
5. Now that the player is satisfied with the new colour of their furniture, they can click “Paint” to confirm the action that they're about to do.
6. After confirming said character will perform the painting animation. The players can pause their painting and resume it later. Once they click again on the workbench furniture, they can choose “Continue Painting” or “Scrap Painting” as with cooking. (Note: Scrapping the painting will give the player their unpainted furniture).

If you want to reset your furniture's colour back to default, you can do so by pressing the “Reset to Default Colours” button on the UI. After doing so, it will change all its colours back to the original state. Doing so will always consume 1 basic paint.

Now you're done! Wait for your character to finish painting and enter BuildMode to see your brand new coloured bed!

And that is the end of the post!

This system took a lot of work to do, NGL. And that's why a lot of games don't like to do this or a real system behind it. Anyway, that's it I'm going back to work! BOOOP

How expensive everything will be? How much money do I need to grind before this update becomes live?😅

I’m very sorry if things are a bit too much grind, we are currently working on the balance of the game…
