The 5 teams convo seems like it meant different things at different points bbuuuut to me if its "they are sort of league ambassadors whose standing in the league is relevant and discussed even when they are not title threats" baseball is clearly Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs. Then it's between the Cardinals and Braves with the Cardinals getting my feather (and I stole that feather from the old Braves logo guy's headdress in what I meant as an act of protest but actually read like hate crime) I get Hayes' point that the Cubs aren't famous for much other than losing, but they are an ancient team with diehard fans that get tons of attention paid to them even when they are losing. And they've produced some legends, plenty of stars, and some of baseball's most famous stories. If a baseball fan wakes up out of a coma, I think those are the teams they're gonna check first.
