What about Lenore and her nest? Good point about Sam leaving Martin, an unstable hunter who spent years in a psyche ward, alone in the middle of nowhere. Martin's death is on Sam. And he wouldn't even let Dean explain what happened. There's no reason for Dean to end Benny. It was self-defense. Martin threatened Elizabeth, a human. That doesn't excuse Dean for scaring Sam with that fake message, but I can understand why he dd it.
