I said this on discord but I'm happy to admit that YG idols are PROBABLY the best rounded idols in terms of performance. They sing GREAT live, OWN the stage and sell the songs to you with such conviction. It's just a shame they're soo underutilised cos these live vocals were nuts.

The BAND also DEMOLISHED this. My people!!

The biggest issue was the lack of range in the discography which is not their fault and goes to YG underutilising their acts. Considering how magnificent Blackpink are as performers, their concerts should explore so many other themes here but it all starts to feel a bit one note but thankfully their live vocals and the band add a lot so you don't feel too short changed.

There are a few songs where their energy definitely lacks which is a shame because as a viewer I started to slack a little also and were not as clean as could be but their charisma helps pull you through.

blackpink’s concerts are always an absolute vibe and i love seeing other people enjoy the arrangements, the live bands, the live vocals, the stage presence as much as i do. i feel like there is constantly anti’s in our ears trying to convince us that their concerts aren’t good and that shit annoys me so much bcs they DELIVER and EAT every-time. i’m always impressed by them !! when i went to see them i had the time of my lifeeeee ! literally THE best day of my life . i never wanted the night to end . i definitely never minded when they toned their energy down bcs i was livinnngg these girls deserve more respect for the shows they put on . like people just love to nitpick when it comes to them and like you said the lack of range in songs is not their fault ! it’s sickening 😭 . i wish yg put more effort into showcasing different sides of them . hopefully now with the contract renewal there will be some kind of change with that and we’ll be able to get to see more ! i’ll stand ten toes down for them anytime . 😭 they’ve been my ults since they debuted i love them downnnn . ♡

I saw them live in Paris and it was amazing, one of the best night of my life, their energy was amazing and also the dancers and the band! They have always performed with the same band (their first tour in 2019, both of their coachella performances), they're called the band six ad they go way back with yg artists. I think they've toured with big bang and 2ne1 also!

i saw them in LA in november 2022 and at coachella 2023 in barricade. i know i probably sound annoying but i need to stress the barricade part because let me tell you.. getting barricade was war 😭

i’m a blink and i love my girlies however, i strongly agree that my biggest issue is the lack of range and simply quantity in their discography. all four already left yg and are doing their own things for their solo endeavors, literally all of them founded their own labels. and i like to think that there will also be changes in how their managed as blackpink. i’m really hoping things change with this new contract otherwise it would be such a shame

I am not an active listener of Blackpink but damn was that impressive!! the live band killed it! The live arrangement of "How you like that" gave me chills and the way the band plays in the back while the girls are talking etc is sooo satisfying and like you said such a good way to make things less awkward. One thing that grabbed my attention w/ their concert is how it feels up to scale. The stadium is full, the stage is huge and yet with the instruments, the lights, the dancers and the girls' stage presence and vocals none of it feels flat or hollow. Granted the camera work also has something to do with that but still. Thoroughly enjoyed this watch

haven't watched a bp concert before so i'm pretty impressed (i'm enjoying concert month a lot :D ) I'm not 100% sure but i think that's the same band big bang & 2ne1 have used in their concerts - i had to watch the 2ne1 all or nothing concert after this to see what their performances were like lol I totally agree that their discography is whats truly holding them back. I want some ballads like 2ne1 had or a song that doesn't end with a onomatopoeia section pls. Also, its pretty cool that YG has kept how they open performances the same for their groups because even 2ne1 had their intros so flawlessly interwoven with the band.

I saw them live in 2022 and it was sooo fun like the energy on the floor was CRAZY. definitely one of my favorite concerts despite the lack of variety in their discography

Have watched this before but yeah Blackpink concerts are good. In a sense, they work even if you are not a fan, where you can drag anyone there and they will enjoy themselves. There's a reason why they had their monster tour going on forever The Blackpink discography problem is why I guess we are all hoping YG doesn't repeat the same mistakes with Baemon. So far, no luck, haha. Cos, as you said, YG idols have always been the most ready to be international stars. Ever since the days of Bigbang. And its not by accident. YG really seems to have a good scouting & training system, even though its known to be so brutal

Blackpink truly is insane live. I saw their encore in Paris and this recording falls so short in comparison to how it feels to hear the band and them live. I do agree with you in terms of energy, compared to the rest of their shows on this tour you could tell that after 66 shows and an insane schedule the fatigue got the best of them. But even despite all that, and a lacking discography, they deliver a hell of a show. I almost wished you would have reacted to the Coachella show, that was their best performance to date.
