Sad news: we have to move, and this time we really really have to do  it. There's no sweet talking my way out of it. Our landlady is adamant  that she wants to sell the place we're currently renting, and this time  we have to bite the bullet.

We've had a fantastic time over the  last 10 years here in Miami Beach, in an area known as South of Fifth.  Admittedly the time is probably right to set sail for new adventures and  leave the proverbial comfort zone (beyond which, allegedly, life  begins). Everything was perfect here for us, from infrastructure to  climate, amenities, relationships and proximity to my important  specialist doctors. We truly couldn't have hoped for a better run, and  we're grateful for that.

I've actually made a bike video about  the dilemma associated with having to find another home, but sadly the  audio didn't record so the above stream clip is a good summary of the  options we have. Trouble is, we don't yet know which one are we going to  pursue. If you have any input that might make our decision easier,  please leave a comment and help a brother out make up his mind!

Although not an exhaustive list, here are some options we have:

  • stay in the immediate neighbourhood (outrageously expensive)
  • stay in South Florida (still expensive)
  • move to another state nearby (we have friends in Georgia)
  • move to another state up north (house share and live in a creative commune, say with Brian and his 3D printers)
  • move to Texas (we have friends there, and it's hot)
  • move to Washington State (that's where my new job is, but it's cold and really far away)
  • move back to Europe (even further away, it's a huge undertaking, and energy prices are insane due to the war with Russia)

We  don't have a  firm deadline for when we have to vacate these premises,  but our internal goal is to have moved by the 31st of August. Let's see  how it goes, I'll certainly keep you posted on our progress.

What would you do in our situation?

Have a great week, and thanks for listening!

This time we REALLY have to move 😥😰😭

Looks like we really have to move. This isn't good! Where should we go? Stay in the neighbourhood (expensive), move elsewhere in Florida (difficult without a car), change states or move to faraway climes? Please help me decide! Yay since you are passionate about you work stay where you heart desires. You have been in North America for a long time. Europe is excellent way to retire you will not be alone there, especially because community is important to you. Your work is global, you free to be anywhere you like. Independance is your freedom and friendships lasts forever this way. You do not need large space to live. Visiting europe and explore rural land is always beautiful

Move to Georgia Jay! It’s really nice and central to everywhere if you are flying. Not too many places have I 75/I85 run through the city. Plus I live here and love it.
