MY IOIII 😭😭 im so excited!! they were (and still are tbh) my favorite girl group ever (at least one of them) and this is where i discovered chungha who’s like one of my favorite idols ever, very excited for this!

but basically this was the final song they did as 22 i think? it was during the live finale as people were voting!! i loveddd crush so much growing up 😭. in reference to vote manipulation: to sum it up, this was the first season (out of 4) of the show aka their test season. from what i remember i dont think this season was confirmed as one that had voting manipulation (wouldn’t surprise me if it did lol), but i doubt it since this was literally the first season and they didn’t even know if they would be successful (spoiler alert: it was VERY successful and i.o.i were successful as well, now there’s produce series in so many different countries). i know for a fact eventually producers for this show got called out (i think they either went to jail or like went to court) for rigging the lineups for the later 2 seasons (pd48 & pdx101) and because of the giant scandal, the group from the last season (pdx101), X1, disbanded after 5 months even though their contract was 5 years (the longest one that ever came from the show) 😭. they were the last group but they had so much potential and impact from just their 5 months, so it was really disappointing to see them go. however, mnet still needed some survival show so thats where girls planet 999 & boys planet come in. they’re basically produce spin offs 😭.
