I feel the same way. Out of the Marvel shows you watched so far, this is the weakest one. For me it has two reasons. The fights aren't as good as the should be for this character (the actor trained as little as possible for the role) and the endless board meetings.

The drunk guard is actually using a real fighting technique called Drunken Kung Fu. Its based on the lurching, swaying movements a Kung Fu master observed in a drunk man walking down the street. You are not supposed to be actually drunk when using it though. It inspired a movie called Drunken Master with Jackie Chan.

Yes Iron Fist is by far the weakest show but wasn't as boring as Luke Cage for me. The showrunner for the first season was Scott Buck who also was the showrunner for the worst Marvel property Inhumans, he was fired from the Iron Fist after the first season, but unfortunately the new showrunner wasn't much better (was co-writer for the Electra movie) so we know how good he would have been.

I should also say what my main issues with this series was, The fight scenes/choreography was very sub-par, Iron Fist is supposed to be an A class martial artist but he is so horrible in this. The casting Jessica Stroup (Joy Meachum) did ok nothing special, Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum) probably one of the best members of this cast, Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing) nothing to complain about probably 2nd best and finally Finn Jones (Danny Rand) absolutely horrible actor and my opinion miscast but the original creator of Iron Fist liked him in the role it was quoted recently. Didn't include Rosario Dawson because only minor role but one of my favorite actors ever.

The drunken master here is played by Lewis Tan. He's actually a great martial artist and a fine actor himself. He was almost cast as Danny Rand, and probably should've been(although Finn Jones did grew on me as the show went on) You have seen Lewis as the main character, Cole Young, in the latest Mortal Kombat movie, he was also, Shatterstar, an X-Force member in Deadpool 2. The show is not as bad as people said when it first came out. It was trashed, but it's a fine tv series. From what I remember, Finn didn't really have a lot of time to train before shooting and they didn't have a lot of time to rehearse and do a lot of takes to nail everything down during the shooting. And Scott Buck(the showrunner) is known for doing things fast and cheep on tv, and Marvel or Netflix or both were rushing to get to Defenders and to put out 3 shows a year instead of 2, like last two years, so it was what it was. Jessica Henwick is awesome and she can actually do fights and stunts and you can see it when she fights, there are less cuts in scenes, you can see her face, you can see her body(unlike Finn lol). And I liked her acting, so she almost instantly made me care more about everything. Also Tom Pelphrey(Ward) is just amazing. It's just a joy to watch him perform I love him in everything I have seen him in, I think first time I saw him was in Banshee and oh boy, he was great, he made me care so much, about a character I would never thought I could care......and Banshee is just an awesome show that everyone should watch!!! Joy is whatever, actress is pretty and I've seen her on The Following with Kevin Bacon and Shawn Ashmore before, and she was fine there as well, so I guess I cared. But Joy and Ward's dad is played by David Wenham......I mean, he's Faramir from Lord of the Rings, but he's older now and a dick, and a zombie?! Of course I cared about him. And I cared about the overarching plot with the Hand by default, 'cause Daredevil made me care. The board meetings were meh, but I guess they needed to fill out 13 episodes. At least they actually learned on their mistakes. No spoilers about the plot. Finn did more training for Defenders and season 2 and in my opinion his fight scenes improved vastly. And season 2 is just 10 episodes and a lot of Marvel Netflix shows were criticized about dragging, especially in the middle of the season, but only Iron Fist took that criticism and actually did something and cut down the episode order.
